Lucas laid down in his bed, feeling drained. He had a plan for Nat, he just had to wait to put it to fruition. When he came to Nat, he would try to reason with her, make her understand that Lucas was in the right and that all would be forgiven if she just came back to where she belonged, with Lucas. If she declined...he just hoped it wouldn't come to that. Lucas was angry at Nat, but, if Nat would just listen to him, well, he could never stay angry at her. How could he? Nat was so perfect...Her skin so soft, her hair curled tightly in such a way that it framed her glasses so perfectly. The way her eyes would sparkle in the light, the most perfect lips Lucas had ever seen...Wait- what was he thinking? Nat's just his friend. Why was his mind being so weird right now? He just misses his friend, that's all. Lucas would wrap himself in his blankets. He remembers once, in secondary school, he and Nat had a sleepover together, at Nat's house. It was Lucas' first time in that part of town, it was very different from where he lived. The house was small and there was junk everywhere. He was shocked when a short half breed opened the door. Nat came running and pushed her father away, bringing Lucas' in for a hug...Nat smelled like strawberries. Nat introduced him to her parents, which shocked Lucas. Her mother was a tall monster, baking muffins for the boys, and her father, Pierce, a man no taller than 5'1, whose skin was red, eyes yellow, and had big curved horns. The couple were very kind. Nat showed Lucas' to her room, which was two times smaller than her own. Nat apologised for the mess and told him that they would have to share the bed. Lucas didn't care, he was just happy to be with his friend. That night he didn't sleep at all, and just listened to the sound of Nat's breathing. They had never been so close, and frankly, he wanted to just stay there forever. He misses those times. He doesn't understand what he did wrong. Why was Nat being so difficult!? "Idiot..." he would whisper to himself. Him and Carter would begin heading to the castle tomorrow, and wouldn't stop until they won, or were dead. Lucas would slowly begin to drift off to sleep.
