Nat had been scared of the ghost, of course, but she was more curious than that. Jona had followed Nat back to her room who left just remembering her necklace. "Why are you following me?" Nat questioned as she sat down on her bed. "Why not?" They both went silent. Jona sat down next to Nat, or more of it, slightly hovered over the bed in a sitting position. "So, how did Terien inherit the house from you anyways? How are you related?" "He's my son." Son? Jona had a son? When did he even have a son? Jona was about 30, and Terien looked around 15-16, meaning Jona would have had him in highschool, but Nat certintaly did not remember Jona having a kid. "Shocked? Yeah...I- i got around in highschool, had a- er- 'companionship' with a girl from another school named Mina, she got pregnant...I wasn't ready to be a father, i just couldn't.
I originally named him Toby, and I loved him, I really did, but I was a kid too. He was only two when I just couldn't support him anymore, so a friend's dad offered to raise him. They changed his name, and never told him who I was, and never told me who he was. That was that." Nat couldn't find words to say, she was shocked, but also felt kinda bad for Jona. Jona didn't say anything more, seeming saddened by the memories.
"Well...I have a kid to find, see you around, spectre." Nat walked off, finding her way to the kitchen, where Terien and Rin were attempting to pry the necklace from Sombers grasp. "I thought they wouldn't catch you?" The kid drops the necklace and runs off. Nat picks the necklace off of the ground. It was a purple amethyst amulet, her favourite colour. Nat, Gen, and Lucas all had matching ones that Lucas had purchased in high school. Lucas' was Lapiz, blue, and Gen's was Sunstone, orange. Lucas was the only one who still wore his. Nat held on to her, out of respect, and because it reminded her of when things were simpler.
She walked off before Terien and Rin could even apologise for the child's behaviour. Nat made her way back to the room and sat down on her bed, staring at the amulet necklace. Nat and Lucas met in primary school, they met Gen in secondary. Her fondest memory with the two is when they met Gen. Gen was doing orchestra practice, she played the piccolo, and it was almost over. Nat and Lucas had gone to pick up Luci, Lucas' sister, who was in the same orchestra. The two teens came running in, goofing around. The cheerleaders were in the middle of an extremely intricate song, which Gen was the lead of. "Do a flip!" Lucas yelled quite loudly, Nat then attempting to do one in response, failing miserably. Gen couldn't help but laugh at the chaotic duo below, making the others lose tempo. The song went from a beautiful melody to wretched, ear-bleeding-, noise.
The two teens and Gen, apologised profusely. The three were inseparable after that, even having Lucas pretend to be a girl so he could hang out in the female dressing chambers with Gen and Nat. Nat places her necklace back into her bag and lays down to sleep. (563 words)
