Not too long after meeting Ellie again Eve and Heather found themselves back in their apartment. They had managed to get Charlie back to his spot on the couch and made sure he was ok before leaving. Eve heard Heather grumbling incoherent words to herself, it was obvious her sister was angry and Eve knew better than to talk to her before she was calm again.

Heather had a bad habit of snapping at the smallest things when irritated and it often led to the older girl isolating herself. She was never mad at Eve, but the younger girl just so happened to usually be the one to tip the bucket and cause it to spill.

Her anger issues were something Heather hated about herself and desperately wanted to work on. But she just couldn't afford the help she needed. So instead Heather tried to keep it in as much as possible. She would repeat to herself "Stay calm, don't get angry." everytime time she flexes her jaw or clenches her fists. Whenever she felt like she was about to burst and take her anger out on her sister she tried to get away from the girl as much as she could. Heather accidentally had snapped at her once and from that day forward she promised to yell at her sister again.

At the time Heather was fifteen and Eve had turned thirteen the week prior. She didn't like to think of this memory so it's a splotchy mess of random moments her brain had kept over the years. She remembered playing terribly during her soccer game and having to suffer through her father's belittling and humiliating lectures all the way home.

Heather had always been the type of person to get angry instead of upset and her being a rebelling teenager only made it worse. She went home that day with a clenched jaw and balled up fists, ready to take her anger out on whatever got too close to her.

It just so happened that her peppy little sister skipped up to her. Eve was a completely different person at home and at school. At school barely anyone knew what the girl's voice sounded like but at home all anyone could hear was her soothing, angelic voice.

Eve came up to her older sister, a wide smile on her face as she carried a massive medical book she had received for her birthday. It was a book about weird human body facts and when Heather found it she knew Eve would love it. "Heather! Heather! You wanna see what I learned from my book!" Heather rolled her eyes, usually she loved having her little sister share her interests with her but right now all she wanted was to go to sleep.

The older girl didn't say anything and walked into the room she shared with Eve. She started to grab a change of clothes but was stopped by her sister practically shoving her book in Heather's face, "Look! Did you know we have 98.4% of the same DNA as chimps and 70% with slugs? That's so cool!" Heather loved her little sister to death and absolutely despises herself for what she did next.

She shoved the book away from her face and out of her younger sister's hands, "Can't you just shut the fuck up?! You never talk in school so why can't you do the same here?! It's annoying how much I have to hear your voice. So fucking annoying! So for everyone else's sake just stop talking!" Eve immediately stopped talking, her smile dropped and turned into a frown, her eyes welled with tears but she turned her face away so her sister couldn't see any of it. She nodded, not trusting her voice and walked over to her bed. She sluggishly got in it and Heather watched as her sister laid there with her knees tucked into her chest. Heather was eating herself up inside as she watched her sisters shoulders start to shake as she silently cried to herself.

Heather stood there frozen for a moment, as she felt herself start to tear up she scrambled into the bathroom that was down the hall of their room. She rushed herself into the bathroom and turned the shower on. She didn't even wait for it to warm up before she stripped herself of her clothes and hopped in. Once she did she sat down on the tiled floor and cried.
