Tonight was normal like every other night. Everyone was on patrol. And like usual, everyone split up.
Leo and April,
Raph and Casey,
Mike and Donnie.
Very simple. Yet it freaked Donatello out.
Why? Well simply because..
Mike wouldn't leave Donnie alone about Casey.
Each time Donatello heard the name come out from the smaller boxing turtle it made him anxious, nervous. With a warm swirling in his stomach as he avoided eye contact. Holding back a smile at the thought of that human boy.

"Soo~~! Gonna tell me the deal between you and Case?" Mike asked, trying to seize information.
"Nothing." Donatello responded with a straight face, though he couldn't help but hesitate before speaking. While he hopped from rooftop to rooftop, he looked around. Not for villains, like Mike looked for, but maybe the place Casey usually played Hockey at.
To see if he was there.
"Bullshit I don't believe. Tell meeeee!!" Michelangelo groaned, leaning his chin on Donnie's shoulder, frowning.
"Nothing is going on between me and Jones. That's the truth." Donatello replied harshly, stopping in his tracks to push Mikey gently back. He looked over the rooftop and stared at the skating rink below. Mike didn't get offended. Rather a big, wide smile grew on his smug face. Donnie turned to stare at him with a raised nonexistent eyebrow. "What?"
"You wish there was something going on between you and him. Don't ya?"
"I do not!" The purple turtle gasped, trying to sound offended.
"Well I think you both would work well together."

Donatello fell silent, a deep moment of thinking before he lifted his eyesight from the skating rink to the orange turtle, Michelangelo.

"You really think so?" Donnie asked, a small smile peaking from his mouth.
"Bro who doesn't love an enemies to lovers story?" Mike answered, nodding. Donnie's eyes widened and he felt his heart race, his face felt warm and hot. He couldn't even think straight now.
"I never meant that in a way that we would.. or could.. or.. I.. No!! I would never date Jones!!" Donnie felt his face warming up even more as he started to panic, feeling weird nervousness about it.
"Sure, sure. Maybe not date but you'd definitely marry him."

Donnie buried his face in his hands and he sat down on the rooftop, legs flopping off the edge as he took deep breaths, his heartbeat slowing down a bit.

"I would not marry him."
"Ok then you'd date him."
"No, I wouldn't."
"Yes, you would."
"..No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No!"
"Yes."
"Absolutely not!"
"Absolutely yes."

Donnie fell silent, sighing.
"Maybe.." He mumbled quietly, almost inaudible.
"Couldn't hear you." Mike replied.
"I said I wouldn't date him." Donnie answered quickly, his voice clearer now.
"That's not what I heard~!"
"You said you couldn't hear me."
"Right.."

Few minutes later<3 (like 30 or 40)

"Donnie has a cruuush~! Donnie has a cruuush~!" Mike chanted, skipping in circles behind the sitting turtle.
"I do not. Shut your snout, Michelangelo."
"You don't like hearing the truth? Try saying the truth then. Maybe you'll like that better. Try it!"
"No!"
"So you admit that what you said before was a lie!!" Mike grinned and started laughing, before hugging Donatello from behind and sitting down beside him.
"What was that hug for?" Donnie asked, confusion marking his face.
"I support you, you're a little fruity after all."
"I am not!!"
"Admit it, you like yaoi!"
"How does that relate to Casey?!!"

Mike's grin widened, and Donatello quickly covered his mouth and looked away.

"Shut up." Donnie snarled, but Mikey's grin simply widened more. A smug look across his face.
"Never said anything." The orange turtle said, shrugging as he looked down at the ice rink.

The two sat there in silence, for what must've been ten to twenty minutes. Until they heard a loud bang from a few streets away, Mike sprung up in excitement and started running towards it.
"Finally, drama!!"

Donatello had no clue where Mike had gone. That little shit was somehow faster than the purple one today. Then again, Donatello was tired and Michelangelo didn't know the word.
Donnie sighed, and lay his back on the rooftop, crossing his arms on the back of his head as he stared at the night sky, unable to see the stars until Mikey yelled in excitement a few streets down.
"Kowabubga!!" He yelled, as every light in the city turned off. Donatello let out a soft chuckle, and smiled as his view of the stars adjusted. They were beautiful. The turtle slowly closed his eyes with a soft, gentle smile on his face.

A few minutes later, he heard a tapping. Footsteps. Not fast ones, nor far away ones. Light, close footsteps. And they stopped right by his head. His eyes shot right open, and he sat up quickly, to see his face inches away from a teenaged boys. Casey. Casey's face was inches away from Donatello's. At some point, Jones had found the purple turtle and had walked over, squatting down beside him. Casey smiled, and tilted his head slightly as Donnie's face lit up with a soft pink on his cheeks, barely visible. But the turtle could hear his own heartbeat in his ears and fingers, fast and unsteady. His breathing became quicker, and he leaned back a bit to distance him and the boy.

"The stars are pretty." Casey noted, though he still only stared at Donatello, without adjusting his gaze.
"Yeah.."

Casey inched a bit closer, and Donatello's cheeks warmed up a bit more, as his slightly parted mouth quickly shut together tightly. They were too close.

"Hey I think your cheeks are a slight-" Casey started, lifting his hand to point, but was quickly pulled back by Raph, and he fell on his back with a loud laughter. "Asshole!"
"Distance yourself from my brother, tough guy." Raph joked, smirking as he chuckled.

Donatello was completely lost.

Everyone went back a few hours later, but Mike suggested that Donatello should walk Casey back home to make sure he was safe. Which didn't quite make sense, since nothing bad happened today except for the purple dragons, nothing too serious. Raph seemed completely against the idea, but Mike managed to convince Leo with help from April. Though both April and Mike had different intentions, obvious for Donatello to make out, the two didn't seem to notice. Donnie just couldn't understand what the different intentions were. But Donatello had no choice, and was now walking in the shadows of the streets in NYC, beside the taller boy.

Casey grabbed Donatello's arm gently and pulled him closer, releasing him from the shadows. Donatello smiled softly as Casey held his hand, while they crossed the street. Donatello trailed behind, and couldn't shift his gaze from their hands.

Casey suddenly pulled Donatello close, wrapping his arm around his waist as he squeezed him close.
"Asshole!" Casey yelled, at the car that flew past, with his middle finger up.
Sudden fear filled Donatello, and he hugged Casey tightly with his face buried in the taller teens hoodie.
Jones looked down at him and frowned, rubbing the back of Donatello's shell gently to try and reassure him everything was alright. After a few minutes, it worked. And they continued walking, but Casey still held Donatello close. With the serious expression on his face, it seemed as if he just didn't want to let Donatello get hurt. Which made Donnie smile, the soft hand of Casey in the weird hand Donatello.
Donnie liked that Jones didn't seem to care about how humans had four fingers, and the turtles had only two. (Thumbs don't count as fingers, but do count if you count them as digits, scientifically.)

The rest of the way, Donatello couldn't brush off the butterflies in his stomach, and he held Casey's hand tighter. He liked how warm his hand was.

God, he sounded so cringe right now.
