Daa Haan
How badly can a girl dream of choking a man with a tie? It's just a stretch away. I just need to drop this hideous pink bouquet and I'll have him singing for his dear life.

Why can't my eyes leave his neck? It's wrinkled. Is this the neck I'm to caress for the rest of my life? Disgusting! His full lips are pursed in an annoying way. The first time he kissed me I almost threw up in my mouth! His breath was smelly. He has an odour I can't explain, the kind all the perfume in the worod cannot conceal.

Is this a punishment? Am I being punished for all the years I gave my father sleepless nights? Dear me!

My eyes slowly dragged away from the man I have been betrothed to for a year to the man responsible for this hideous match. Doesn't he want good looking grandchildren? I raised an eyebrow at the Duke. He narrowed his cold blue eyes at me. It's silent communication. He's warning me and typically, I'm defying that warning. I dragged my eyes back to the warthog of a groom.

He's smiling at me. This has to be the happiest day of his life. He shares that stupid smile with everyone else at this ill-fated wedding. I didn't ask for this match. My friends have gotten far better matches with younger men. My father thought it would be economically beneficial for the family if I marry the wealthiest man in Daa Haan even if he's as old as he is.

Money. Status. Titles. I have had enough.

Not all the money in the world can make me comfortable with the idea of waking up to the hideous face every single day of my life. I can't do it.

I paid attention to the priest.

"Before we proceed with this holy ceremony, I am obligated by law to ask. If anyone has any reason why these two should not be united in holy matrimony, please speak -"

"I have something to say." I spoke up.

"Selina!" My father tried to reprimand me to silence. "Silence!"

"I have something to say!" I screamed at the top of my voice. I threw the bouquet at the guests. "I told you that I don't want to marry this old bag of bones but you wouldn't listen! Now you have no choice but to listen! There will be no wedding!"

I dropped the bouquet and stomped on it. I pulled off the gloves and hurled them aside.

The groom to be isn't smiling anymore. He took hold of my shoulder. "Young lady, I suggest that you comply-"

"I suggest that you shut up!" I drove my knee right to his groin. The horrified exclamations from the guests isn't going to make me comply to this circus anymore.

When the priest tried to touch me, my fist found it's destination in his face.

"Selina!" My father screamed out in a horrified tone.

He tried to grab me but I crawled right between his legs and made a run for it like my life depends on it. My life does depend on it! I'm not going to marry a man my father's age! There is no shortage of young men.

Behind me, royal guards are in pursuit. The dress weights a ton! The train will get me caught. I got rid of the veil. A little girl picked it up. I ran right into the market and startled people. It's a sight! The Duke's daughter, the runaway bride racing through a crowded market! What a way to wake up!

I grabbed a pair of scissors from the hand of the local seamstress. I disappeared down a narrow street. I stopped briefly to make an introduction between the scissors and the most expensive gown in Daa Haan. I ripped through viciously seeking to destroy it.

When I was content, I climbed up the wall that encloses the market from the beach. I fell over to the soft sand of the beach. In the far distance, I see boats. I took a moment to gather myself before making a run for it.
