Ember's POV
I walked swiftly down the art filled hallway of our home. The journey cannot seem longer. I have pressing news and my father needs to hear it.

The guards opened the door when they saw me approach.

"Father!" I called ahead at the man reading a newspaper. He lowered it. "I have news."

I came to a stop in front of him.

"Well, out with it!"

"I just came from a meeting at the palace. The king is furious! Ebrium has gone dark. The Duke all nobility can longer be reached."

"Adryan got to him!" His eyes lit up. "That bastard! This is good news!"

"I fail to see how."

"Come on a son! This once be a visionary!" My father prides himself to be a visionary. "This brings us a step closer to our goal! It's just a matter of time before Adryan and Treytan clash."

"I think it will I'll be catastrophic." I grimaced. I don't think he knows how dangerous Adryan is.

"Magnificently so! Adryan will remove Treytan from the throne. Who will become king?"

"Relian."

"And guess who will be there to give guidance to the pacifist king? His dotting father in law! And when your sister has a make heir, we will get rid of Relian and take control of the throne. It's a long game but it's going to work."

"You forget Adryan. Assuming he finds out you are behind Relian's death, what will you do?"

His face grew pale. "Why must you dampen my excitement?"

"Because you are making a big mistake by underestimating Adryan. Where does he fit into your little plan?"

"Grace us with your brilliant ideas son!"

"Adryan should be the first to die. No Adryan, means a smooth sail. In this war between Adryan and Treytan, we want Treytan to win. She will finally claim him and it is easier to kill him off than Adryan."

He paced about the grand space. He's thinking of a plan. I think Adryan shouldn't be underestimated. The way he fled his execution as well as sending lower Cray Thera to chaos is warning enough.

"We have a weapon against Adryan. We have the girl."

"How do we use her?"

"Have her write a letter. It will be addressed to Adryan. In the letter, she should tell him that the orchestrator of the chaos in Fisherman Cove is Treytan."

Rose told me that Adryan has a new interest; the young woman he escaped with. According to Rose, he is find of her. She is also equally interested in him.

"I don't think the girl matters anymore. We should dispose of her."

"She's our ace."

"She's not. Our ace is the one he escaped with. I have a source that informed me of his interest in her.

"Son, out of sight, out of mind. I assure you that once he sees the girl again, the good old feelings with surface. We keep the girl. We also keep tabs on the new one. Who knows, when we get a chance, we can add to our collection of ammunition against Adryan."

Selina's POV
When Adryan said we will do something different, it didn't occur to me that it will be this way.

When I arrived in his quarters, he wasn't here. I felt disappointed because I had to argue my way out of my quarters. Frances is a problem. She thinks Adryan is using me and that once he is done he will leave me. She could be right or wrong. What I know is that I'm not being used if I'm aware of the consequences.
