Queen Nova's POV
When Adryan joined the army, he was fifteen. He was a tall lean boy with an eagerness to fight. Everytime Adryan left, I wasn't sure if he would return to me in one piece. I never had this problem with Relian. The difference between my boys is that one of them will choose self preservation and the other runs into the fire. The one who runs into the fire has given me countless sleepless nights.

Today, I'm not worried about Adryan, but someone just like him. Selina. She left six hours ago with four men and a list of where all the fifteen girls are. Up to now, she's not back. There's no word. I'm peering into the darkness, looking out for someone I can't see.

"Do you understand what you have done?" My brother questioned me.

"No brother, I believe I'm too daft to understand. Care to explain it to me?" I glared at him.

"We are guests here! What you and that insolent girl are doing is criminal! We can't go back home! Why are you making out stay here impossible?"

"Brother, are Chea Niva and the Chrystal Isles the only places that we can live in the world? No. Stop freaking out and let things play out as they will."

I paid attention to the darkness. I caught a glimpse of a flash of light in the distance. It was  brief. I moved closer to the gate.

"When you catch sight of them, let them in swiftly and barricade the gate!" I ordered.

We all watched as the sound of people became a reality. The flashlights are now more consistent. Thr first one to come to view is a little girl, probably ten at most.

"Help! Help us! Selina is hurt! Help us!" She called out. We let her through.

I caught her. "Where is Selina?"

"Being carried by the others. They won't make it!"

Two more girls came through and six after that. Six more to go.

"The men I sent with her?" She shook her head. The dark look in her eyes is proof enough. They are gone. "Go help them!"

The two guards ran out to meet Selina and the girls. Everyone managed to come through the gate. We closed up and I left them to follow the six girls carrying Selina.

They set her up in her cabin. We moved swifty, trying to tend to her wound. It's a gunshot on the side of her waist. I know nothing of what to do. One of the other women seems to know. I moved away, watching them trying to save her life.

Adryan and Selina don't belong together because there's no balance. They will both die for a cause.

I stepped outside, looking at the blood on my hands. I'm the daughter of a Baron. I have never had any blood on my hands.

A young woman hurried to wipe my hands clean. "It's all right my queen. I'll wipe it away. It's all right my queen."

"Do you see what you have done? Adryan will go mad of that girl dies!" My brother reminded me. "Now the Chrystal Isles are banging at th gate!"

I snapped out of my sadness. I composed myself and marched to the gate.

"Your Majesty, they want to come in."

The only thing that will save us is Adryan's arrogance.

"What do you want?" I snapped at them.

"Sixteen criminals just came through here. Open the gate. We are to arrest them."

"Would you go to Chea Niva and arrest it's subjects? Is that your jurisdiction?"

"This is not Chea Niva!"
