I had this sudden idea recently, and thought it would be cool to write, so enjoy!

Eddie's POV

I sat by Grant, strapping myself into the mint green roller-skates I had picked out.

Grant had picked white ones with purple laces, making me laugh.

However, he didn't find my teasing that funny.

"Stop laughing at me, this is all they had left!"

I shoved his shoulder, smiling. "Never."

Once I had finished tying the laces, me and a grumpy Grant walked out onto the rink, our hands connected to avoid falling.

Truthfully, I'm not the best at skating.

I had thought going to a skating rink would be a fun date,

But not so much anymore after I landed on my face.

Suddenly, I saw two pairs of skates, looking up.

There stood what looked like a guy a little younger than me and Grant.

He had black skates with white laces, and there were little stars and planets drawn on them.

"You need some help big guy?" The boy chuckled, sticking out his hand to presumably help me up.

I took it, not really letting the shame get to my head.

"Thanks, but you didn't need to do that."

Shrugging, he just smiled. "If you want, I can give you the skating run down?"

His eyes lit up like this was the first opportunity he's ever had to ask.

My heart crumbled at the thought of this boy having no company.

So, I nodded my head, grinning at his giddy expression.

The boy, who's name I learned is Gaege, was giving us his personal tips and tricks.

Every move he did baffled me, because he was good.. really good.

Halfway through showing us the basics, someone else came over.

Another boy, but he was older than Gaege, and wearing a pink beanie over his blonde hair.

"Gaege, what are you doing, me and Mul have been waiting for you this whole time-"

It's like a spark went off in his head, because he suddenly remembered. "Jesus, I'm sorry Josh. I met these two guys and thought I'd help them skate."

Grabbing his own beanie, he slipped it on his head to cover his short hair.

"Just.. just let me help them get situated, okay?"

My hand was in Grants, the both of us eyeing the boy admirably.

However, he looked sort of disappointed, slightly confusing me.

Josh sighed, nodding his head. "Whatever, but I have to get home by 4 o clock."

Mully was waving behind him, making Josh roll his eyes. "You hear me Juice? That's 30 minutes tops."

"Yeah yeah, I hear you" Gaege grunted, watching him walk off.

Once he turned back to me and Grant, he was back to smiles and laughs.

Something in me could sense the sudden forced nature of it, squinting my eyes at him.

I think Grant saw it too, because he turned toward me, frowning. "You know, it's fine if your friends need you, we'll survive."

He jumped. "No no, I want to help you guys, I promise."

Gaege's eyes took a glance at our interlocked fingers, quickly averting.

"Plus, Josh isn't exactly the life of the party, so I'd rather hang with you guys" he admitted.

This left me with a better feeling in my chest, but I still felt like we were missing something.

Finally, after 20 minutes of tripping over each other, we got it down.

Gaege clapped with enthusiasm, laughing at my roll of the eyes.

"Only took you 100 falls to be able to skate flawlessly."

He skated over to us, skirting to a stop with ease.

The sparkle in his eyes, met with his overflowing confidence made me swoon.

Grant looked over at me, shoving my shoulder affectionately. "Eddie, you're staring."

I looked up to see Gaege looking away with a flush of his cheeks.

"We've still got 9 minutes if you want me to, I don't know, show off a little?"

My eyes lit up, and I agreed. "I've been waiting to see your sick moves."

Skating off into the distance, me and Grant watched him.

Firstly, he skated around in a circle, spinning effortlessly.

My eyes widened though when he got on one foot, leaning back while still moving

It was like he wasn't in control anymore, making my jaw drop.

And then he turned, landing on his other foot, this time doing the same but leaning forward

And then he turned, landing on his other foot, this time doing the same but leaning forward.

Finally he halted to a stop, skirting the skates onto the hardwood floor in front of us.

"Maybe I should have mentioned I've been skating for 5 years."

Gaege wiped his sweaty forehead, smiling up at us.

"That was fucking amazing, I mean.. I-"

Grant put a hand on my shoulder, chuckling.

"What I think he's trying to ask is, will you go out with us?"

I might make a part 2 to this, I'm debating on it..
