May stood there hesitantly, she didn't know how he could just walk away. After everything he'd just said, after all he's been through because of her, he's willing to let her go just to make her happy. "Luke! Wait!" She said, running after him. She finally caught up to him, "I don't understand. After all these years, after everything. Why?" Luke took a deep breath, contemplating whether or not he should ask the question that's been on his mind since the moment she sat down earlier. Until finally, "do you still love me?" He blurted out. May was taken aback, she froze at his question. Out of all things, that was the last thing she expected him to say. "Because if you do. I will take out of this place right now, I will live up to my promise. I will spend my whole life making sure you are happy. But I can't do that if you don't feel the same way. I can't do that if he-" he lets out a sigh, "I can't do that if he could promise you the same thing. Because I know you love him, whether you're ready to admit it or not, I know because I know you." May stands in silence, staring at him with tears streaming down her cheeks. "God May, please say something."

"Luke..." Her voice broke. Not needing any more explanation, he nodded as tears filled his eyes. She opens her mouth to say something but shes interrupted, "No. No it's okay. I mean, it's been years. I can't expect you to hold on for that long. You thought I was gone." He said trying to hide his emotion, but she could hear the hurt in his voice. "I will always love you Luke. You're a part of me. But-" but, that one word shattered his heart in an instant. "But I love him too, and I don't think I could live without him by my side." May grabs his hand and wipes the tears from his face, "I don't know what he can promise me, But he makes me happy."

"That's all I've ever wanted for you May" he says. May wraps her arms around him, "I'm sorry this life hasn't been kind to you. I'm sorry I'm not the girl I was before, I'd give anything to be able to give her back to you." She pulls back just enough to look him in the eyes, "You deserve everything good the world has to offer. You have a kind heart, and those are hard to come by" She smiles. "No. They're hard to come by around here. But boy am I lucky to have found one in a place I thought they didn't exist."

"Are you sure you don't mind staying in here for a while until I figure something else out?" May asked, her voice full of concern as Luke fluffed his old bed in the barn. "Yeah, it's weirdly comforting. This was the only home I'd ever had so, it feels right" he replied. Those word struck May in the heart, through all the sadness of the past two hours she now feels anger. Anger for the one person who is responsible for all of this hurt and sadness. Jamie. "I'll be back in a bit." May said. "Okay, Thank you. For everything May." She smiled and walked out of the barn.

This day has been a roller coaster of emotions, May has gone from happy, to scared, to sad, then to angry, all in a matter of hours. She angrily started walking up to the house to find Jaime but she got distracted by a sudden roar of laughter coming from the bunkhouse. She suddenly felt the sadness again. Without thinking, she burst into the bunkhouse, turning the head of every single wrangler there. But she ignored them and walked straight up to Lloyd giving him the biggest hug. At first, he was confused, not sure what was happening, but She buried her face into his shoulder she muttered the words "thank you" while they all watch in confusion. In an instant he knew exactly why. He just wrapped his arms around her, "No problem kid" he smiled.

May sat waiting with her back against the bunkhouse. She tried to push down every emotion she had and kept going over what she was going to say when Ryan got back in her head. After half an hour, she saw Ryan's truck driving towards her. He stepped out of his truck and stood there staring, waiting for her to say something, but she froze. The moment she laid eyes on him her mind went blank. She just sat there, staring back as tears rolled down her cheeks. She felt like she was drowning in her own emotions.

Without needing a word, Ryan walked over to her and sat down. For a moment they were silent, they just looked out into the distance sitting in each other's presence. May felt a sense of relief wash over her as Ryan took her hand. "Just explain it to me and I'll try to understand" he said sincerely. Just like that the words flowed out like a river, she explained everything. Her voice was shaking and her words were punctuated by sobs. She told him why she left for Chicago and why she's sober. Ryan listened intently, his eyes never leaving hers.
