The ghost of you! (Maggie and Glenn fanfic)

Part 3: Walkers and returned

3rd POV

Optimus heard some clicking when he woke up. He then looked. He screamed as he saw a walker. Lori instantly woke up. They saw a walker. Both of them managed to get out of the Prime's alt-form. 

A walker then grabbed Lori. She screamed and it took her jacket. She kicked it and she fell with it. She crawled away. Optimus then grabbed a chain from the back of his alt-mode. He then grabbed the walker by the neck and ripped its head off. He then slammed his boot down on it's face. 

Everyone was sitting down to eat. "They should've been back by now." Andrea said. "They're just holed up somewhere. We'll head out first thing tomorrow." Shane said. He then turned to Carl. 

"Carl, I want you to keep your head up. Your old man, he's the toughest son of a-"

"No cussing in the house." Patricia snapped. "Sorry."

"Lori. Optimus. Dinner!"

"They're not in there." Andrea said. Maggie turned. "Where are they?" Maggie turned.  

"Carl, when's the last time you saw your mother?" Shane asked. "This afternoon."

"She was worried about Rick, asked me to look in on Carl. I saw her and Optimus leave." Maggie then shot up. 

Optimus's alt-mode was driving right behind Lori. Optimus heard an engine and turned but calmed down when he saw it was Shane. Lori stood between the young Prime's legs. "Are you all right?" Shane asked her. "I'm fine." She said. 

"You're not fine. I saw the metal all around the spot." He then checked Lori to make sure she was fine. "What happened?"

"Me and Optimus looked down at the map. Hit a walker." Lori explained. "Next time, pay attention to what you're doing!" Shane snapped coldly at Optimus. He looked down. "Don't snap at him. Optimus, you did fine. It was both our faults." The Prime sighed. 

They then left when Shane lied saying Rick was back. Optimus Transformed and Lori got in his truck. 

Optimus got out of his truck with his holoform and Maggie saw him. "Jesus! Are you okay?" She asked him. "I'm fine. I'm okay. She's... She's worse than me." Optimus said. 

"We were in an accident. We're fine." Lori said. 

"She was attacked because someone dumbass looked down at a map." Optimus looked down. "Where's Rick?" Lori asked. 

No one answered. "They're not back?" No one spoke. Optimus stood next to Maggie who was rubbing his back. 

"Where are they?" Lori snapped at Shane. "Look, I had to get you back here. You wouldn't have come otherwise."

"You asshole." Lori snapped. 

She shoved Shane. "Now, look, first things first-- I gotta look after you. I gotta make sure the baby's okay." Lori tensed. 

"Your having a baby?" Carl asked. "Why didn't you tell me?" Lori was speechless. Shane sighed. Carl then ran off. 

"Come on. Let's make sure we're both alright." Optimus said. He put his arm around Lori and they both walked to the house. 

Maggie and Optimus were sitting with Josephine. They then heard a car. Optimus walked outside with Maggie. Carol was staying with Josephine. 

Once Rick got out, Carl ran to him. "Dad!"

Lori then hugged him. 

"Thank God!" Maggie ran past Hershel and hugged Glenn. He then walked past her. She frowned. 

"Me and Optimus went looking for you. He offered to drive me!" Lori said. Rick turned to the Prime. He sighed. "It was his fault the accident happened." Shane snapped coldly. 

"Thank you for protecting her!" Rick told the Prime shocking Shane. 

"Hey, Can I talk to you?" Maggie asked Glenn. He followed her into the kitchen. "What's going on with you?" She asked. Glenn sighed. "Your dad saved my life today. And Rick saved us both. And I--" Glenn sighed. "I froze."

"Well, you were being shot at." Maggie argued. "No, that..."

"You don't have anything to prove." Maggie tried. "All I've done, then this-- Okay. It's because of what you said." Glenn said. "That I love you and that both those kids admitted your a father figure to them?" Maggie asked. 

"Yeah. A bullet hit the wall behind me and I--I thought of you-- and those kids-- Losing me, hurting. And I couldn't take it, so I hid to stay alive." Glenn said. "Glenn..." She tried to kiss him but he stopped her. "No, no, no. No, you don't get it. Rick, your dad-- they were counting on me. and I... I only thought of myself." Glenn the walked off. Maggie sighed.
