Part 10: Daryl leaves

Josephine Rogers POV

I was sitting with Blade and we heard someone. "Josie!" I heard Rick hiss. "Rick!"

I got up Blade following behind me. "Now we got a problem here. I need you to back up." Rick warned me. "WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING HERE?!"

Blade pulled out his sword. "HE TRIED TO KILL HER!" Blade snarled angrily. 

"IF IT WASN'T FOR HIM-"

"He helped us get out of there." Daryl told us. "Yeah, right after he beat the shit out of you!" Rick sneered. "Hey, we both took our licks, man." Merle said. 

"Jackass." Daryl snapped. "Hey, shut up!"

"Enough!"

Blade tried to stab Merle. "Put that down now!" Rick yelled at him. "Man, get that out of my face!" Daryl snarled. 

I then gently touched Blade's arm. "Come on. Put it down. Please?" I asked. 

Blade growled at Merle but put it down. 

"Hey, do you know Andrea?" Rick asked Blade. "Yep, he does. Them three and blondie spent all winter cuddling up in the forest. Mm-mmm-mmm. Yeah. My Nubian king here had two pet walkers. No arms, cut off the jaws, kept them in chains. Ironic, now that I think about it."

"Shut up, bro!" Daryl snarled. "Hey, man, we snagged them out of the woods. Josephine was dying. Andrea was close to it as well."

"Is that why she's with him?" Mommy asked. "Yeah. Snug as two little bugs. So what you gonna do now, Sherrif, huh? Surrounded by a bunch of liars, thugs, and cowards."

"Shut up!" Rick snarled. "Oh, man. Look at this. Pathetic. All these guns and no bullets in them."

"Merle, SHUT UP!" Daryl snarled annoyed. "You shut up yourself. Bunch of pussies and a bitch you roll-" Rick knocked him upside the head. 

I was sitting in the back of the truck. I sniffled and Blade rubbed my back softly. 

"He's not coming back!" Rick snapped. Optimus turned. "Rick. He saved Josephine. He's kept an eye on her this whole time. I owe him because he saved my sister and kept her safe." Optimus stated. 

"They did bring you guys to us." Glenn said. 

"And then ditched us." Rick stated. "At least let my dad stitch them up." Maggie begged. 

"They're too unpredictable." Rick said. 

"That's right. We don't know who they are. But Merle, Merle's blood." Daryl said. 

"No, Merle is your blood. My blood, my family is standing right here and waiting for us back at the prison." Glenn stated. 

Blade patted my shoulder and went to check on Michonne. She was his twin sister. 

I saw Daryl walk over and he packed his stuff. "Where are you going?" I asked. "With Merle." Was all he said. I stared at him. 

I nodded. "Okay." I didn't speak. "Josie-" He tried to touch me and I jumped up. "Don't! Don't touch me!" I snapped. He looked at me. "Just go."

I then walked over to Optimus. He hugged me tightly and rubbed my back softly. "It's okay, sissy. It's okay." He whispered. 

Mommy then kissed my head. 

I got in Optimus's truck form. 

He then drove off following Rick. 

I was laying in Optimus's truck as they cleared the road. I had my head in his lap and he rubbed my hair softly. 

"Rick do you have any idea what that man did to Josie? She's traumatized because of him. He raped her!" Rick tensed. 

He turned to Maggie. "I witnessed it, Rick. My daughter was raped and my son was beaten." Maggie said. 

Rick sighed. 

We soon got back on the road. 

We got to the prison and Optimus drove straight up Ironhide and the dinobots following. 

I got out of the car. As soon as I did, I was hugged by Hershel. I smiled. He then looked at me. "Maggie, Beth, take Josephine inside."

Mommy nodded. 

I then turned. "Blade. Come on." He hesitated but followed me. I walked inside with Blade behind me. 

Mommy and Beth made sure I was okay and I sat in the cell with Blade. "I wanted to kill him for what he did to you." I nodded. "Stabbed his eye with a glass shard. Should have stabbed him with my sword." Blade snarled. 

I gently held his hand and he looked at me. "I'm just glad you're okay." I told him. 

He nodded. I laid my head on his shoulder and he rested his head on mine. I smiled. I sighed. "I'm scared Blade." I whimpered. "Come on. Go to sleep. I'll stay here." Blade promised. I nodded. He kissed my head. 

Optimus saw Blade was cleaning his sword. "Hey." He turned to see Optimus Prime: Josephine's brother. "Thank you for taking care of her. If something else had happened to her... I don't know what I'd do." Optimus said. 

Blade nodded. "Her and her dinobots helped me. I told her I owed her my life and we've gotten close." Blade said. Optimus nodded.
