Part 13: hiding/new home

Josephine Rogers POV

Optimus drove to the meeting place. I felt nervous. I found three baby dragon eggs and they hatched as soon as I found them.

I got out of Optimus's truck and so did Hershel. Optimus then transformed and he looked at me. "He's already in there." Daryl told us as he came around. I nodded.

I felt super nervous. "It doesn't feel right." I mumbled nervously. "Keep an eye out." He told my brother. Optimus nodded.

We then heard an engine. "Heads up!" I warned. Daryl pointed his crossbow. Optimus kept me beside him. Andrea and two other men got out. "What the hell? Why's your boy already in there?" Daryl snarled.

"He's here?" Andrea asked. The one with the bald head looked at her.

Optimus transformed and he activated his holoform.

"I heard about the raids, the heads, Jo." Rick said. "Merle did that." Phillip said.

"No. You know what I'm talking about. Her mother witnessed it." Rick sneered.

I sighed as I stood beside Optimus. He gently rubbed my arm.

"I'm gonna go in." I said. "The Governor thought it best if he and Rick spoke privately." The man with the notepad said.

"Who the hell are you?" My brother asked. "Milton Mamet." He said. "Great, he brought his butler." Optimus sneered. I smiled.

"I'm his advisor," Milton said. "What kind of advice?" Optimus asked. "Planning. Voters. You know what? I don't really feel the need to explain myself to the henchmen." Optimus's face hardened.

"Better watch your mouth, Sunshine," he growled. "Look, if you and I are gonna be out here pointing guns at eachnkthrr do me a favor. Shut your mouth." The other one said.

Optimus started to walk over and I grabbed his arm. "Stop. They're not worth it." I said.

He looked at me and backed off.

Hershel nodded at me proudly. I sighed.

"We promised Rick and Optimus that we'd stay put." michonne snapped at Merle. "I've changed my mind, sweetheart. Sitting on the sidelines with Jo out there just doesn't sit right with me." Merle said.

Merle told Carl his dad's head might be on a pike soon. "Don't say that to him." Maggie states.

Merle shrugged

I was sitting on the ground under a tree with my brother.

"Ooh, your birthday is coming up soon. What do you want to do for it?" He asked me. I smiled. "I don't know. Probably just want to sit in my room with you all day with junk food." I giggled. He smiled.

He kissed the side of my head.

I smiled.

Andrea then sat beside us. "In sorry for thinking you lied, Jo. I'm sorry for everything." She apologized. "It's what family is for..." I told her and held her hand. She smiled.

I sighed. I laid my head on Optimus's chest and he wrapped his arm around me. We heard walkers. Andrea stood up and pulled out her knife along with Daryl and the one guy.

I sighed and fell asleep on my brother.
