Chapyer 35: being a parent

Josephine Rogers Rhee POV

I sighed as I laid down Gracie in her crib. She was asleep. I smiled. Optimus sighed and looked at her.

Mom found out about the baby and she asked me if I needed to she could the care of her. I told her no and that I could. I wanted a child seeing as the one I had died because I lost my boyfriend to Negan.

I stood behind Jesus. Poisonfang stood behind me.

"Jesus."

"Hi." Jesus told her. Mom glared at him. "You're giving away our food!" she snapped.

"We had a bumper crop of turnips in the root cellar. We couldn't get rid of them. Saviors left them behind after they raided us." Jesus said.

"That cellar is there for a reason." Mom
Said. "We might have plenty now but that could change. We got to look after our own." She added.

"Paul, Jo, this is a farce. It's gone on long enough. I mean, build a gallows already. You're handy, Margaret. Save the bullets and be done with it." Gregory said.

"Says the one who sold us out!" I snarled angrily.

Optimus walked out. "Gregory... go the hell inside!" he snapped. "I'm just saying what everybody inside there is thinking." He pointed out.

"Go inside." Optimus snapped. "Now!" he snarled. Enid and Gregory went inside. Optimus turned to me. I sighed. We walked forward.

"You two shouldn't have put us in this position." he started. "Why? BecUse they killed Dad and they all deserve to die? Not all of them are bad!" I argued. Optimus sighed.

"We will end Negan. But as should save some people to let them see Negan won't survive for long." I assured my brother.

He sighed.

I got on Poisonfang and he chittered. "And where are you going?" Optimus asked. "Rick sent a raven. He needs my help." I said.

Optimus sighed.

I then leaned down. Poisonfang flew up into the air and he flew off towards the junkyard people.

"ROSITA!"

They saw the truck drive off. Suddenly Predaking landed on the truck. He roared. Tara and Daryl got off him.

Poisonfang roared as he landed on the top of all the junk. He snarled. Everyone flinched.

I saw Rick. He smiled at me and I smiled back. Poisonfang landed and I got off him.

We got off of the truck and I walked beside Rick ready to help him. We both pointed our guns. We saw a walker. I grabbed my knife. I stabbed one and he stabbed the other two. "Snipers report in!" Rick ordered.

No-one responded.

Me and Rick climbed up the tower. I then paled. There were no more walkers. At all!

I looked at Rick. No one was answering the radio call.

"Megatron! The saviors are out!"

Me and Rick turned the corner and we had our guns pointed. Poisonfang was behind us. Me and Rick looked. Suddenly we wrote shot at. Me and Rick hid behind Poison. We saw Carol. We got in the car and they drove off.

"They got out! It couldn't have been long from now. We need to warn everyone! They're gonna hit back!" I said.

"We can get cars near the east lookout and split up," Carol said.

I flinched as I wasn't awake fully. They forced me on my knee's. I winced. I saw Megatron and Optimus.

I winced. My body was burning in pain. They pointed a gun at my heads. I looked at Optimus. He didn't move too scared they were gonna kill me.

I then looked in the woods. I saw Riley and she was being very quiet. I then motioned with my hands in a silent signal.

I then opened my bond with Optimus. Riley is in the woods. I gave her a command to light her fire against every single savior if they shoot me.

Do not speak like that, Jo. I will protect you and we will get out of here alive, I promise. He said.

We heard music playing in the distance. I then looked at Optimus. Simon then shot me in the stomach. Optimus widened his eyes.

I felt his fear over the bond. I winced and put my hand on my stomach. Once the saviors were gone, Optimus rushed to me. "JOEY!" He slid and picked me up in his servo.
