Herb Cookie wanted to strangle the forest. He'd attempted to resonate his natural powers to give the forest a piece of his mind, but couldn't.

In the aftermath of their encounter with the bandit cookies, the trio gathered their thoughts and caught their breath. The wounds from their battle were healed, but the emotional toll still lingered in their hearts. Space Doughnut lost their rested smile, and now carried a solemn blank expression.

Madeline Cookie lost his powerful aura. Something told Herb Cookie that he'd stop rushing into battle. He didn't want that. He wanted Madeleine Cookie to keep rushing to defend them, but he doubted that his physique would stay after so much trial and error. He'd nearly died so many times. Madeleine Cookie smiled at Herb Cookie, a forced smile that had no happiness or humor. An empty smile, as if he was hiding his true feelings.

"Herb Cookie, are you alright?" Madeleine Cookie questioned.

Herb Cookie nodded. "Yes. Thank you. I just, my mind's been active lately, I-"

"I understand. But do not lose focus, Herb Cookie. I sense danger, and if we nearly died to mere bandits, who knows what an actual threat could do."

"To be fair, those bandits trained just to face you. All because they wanted that sword. But look at you, holding it right now!"

Madeleine Cookie gripped it tighter and smiled. "Ah, thank you. But this sword is a mere accessory to my spirit. Without this sword, I would still fight."

Herb Cookie blankly stared, as if Madeleine Cookie was speaking in riddles.

"Don! Don...Don!" Cheered Space Doughnut. Herb and Madeleine Cookie turned to them in confusion, and then gasped. Space Doughnut had retrieved a small, glowing crystal from the ground. It emitted a faint, ethereal light that danced across Space Doughnut's cookie surface. Their eyes sparkled with newfound excitement, their curiosity reignited.

"What is that?" Madeleine Cookie asked, his voice tinged with awe.

Space Doughnut held the crystal up for Herb Cookie and Madeleine Cookie to see, their voice resonating with a sense of wonder. "Don! Don...Don!" they exclaimed again, pointing at the crystal.

Herb Cookie studied the crystal intently, his mind racing with possibilities. There was something undeniably magical about it, an aura of ancient power that pulsed within its core.

"This crystal... it feels significant," Herb Cookie murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "It might hold the answers we've been seeking, the missing piece to Space Doughnut's identity."

Madeleine Cookie's eyes widened as he took in the crystal's brilliance. "You think this crystal can help us uncover Space Doughnut's origins?"

Herb Cookie nodded, a determined look in his eyes. "It's worth a try. We've been wandering aimlessly, searching for clues, but this... this could be the breakthrough we've been waiting for."

Space Doughnut, sensing the seriousness of the moment, held the crystal closer to their heart. Their eyes flickered with a mix of hope and uncertainty, as if they were prepared to embrace whatever truth awaited them.

"Oh snap back to reality. That crystal's meaningless!"

The trio turned towards the voice. A cookie, dark and bearing a dazzling black top-hot with a suit and white tee combo, ran towards them, laughing.

"Hah! Space Doughnut's origins? Seriously! You guys just never lose hope! Guess that's why Earthbread rests in your hands."

Madeleine Cookie perked up. "Earthbread? Lying in our hands?"
