Rimuru's POV

Now that the reward ceremony is done, i finally have some time, not that it will last long. Within a few days the Empire should make its move. Just as I was thinking about what to do, I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in." I say.
"Hai." Testarossa says as she came in.

I remember calling the trio one by 9ne today.

"I have come as you asked me milord."
"Yes. Firstly, good job. You did quite a good job on the battlefield, and there were no witnesses from either side, so nothing to say about your performance."
"I am honoured milord."
"Also here, take this sword." I say as I give her a sword."

"Milord, this is?" She asked confused.
"You see, as I cannot give you any reward in public, i decided to give you this privately. In my previous world, i fought against a barbarian clan. They made weapons out of the bones of animals they hunted. It just so happened that one type of animal could elongate its spine. Using its spine a weapon was created. So I tried to recreate it. This can be used as a sword and a whip if you use your magic. Why don't you try it?"
"Very well." She says as takes the sword from my hand and slowly passes magic through it. The blade breaks into pieces connected to each other with a purple stream of magic.

"Also, the blade has a very potent poison, so only use it when you are trying to kill your opponent."
"Understood."
"Well then, regarding the Empire, ......"

We then continued to discuss what our next move should be. The thing that I am most worried about is internal strife in the West. In turbulent times such as these, it wouldn't be surprising if something like that did happen. After an hour had passed, we had decided what to do with the Western Nations, so Testarossa took her leave.

Some time later, Ultima came in.
"Rimuru-sama, you called?"
"Yes. Why don't you sit down." I say as i complete the paperwork I was doing. For God sake, there is so much paperwork after the war, and the war isn't even over yet.

"Right. First of all, good job. You did great. The airship that was taken in custody is being analyzed by Kaijin and the others, so we should see some response to that soon enough." I tell her.
"Is that so? I am glad I could be of help."
"So? Is there something you want, as a reward?"
"Hmm? Serving Rimuru-sama is enough of a reward, though."
"Still. Anything else."

I really don't get how these demons think.

"If possible, I would like to go and visit Hyme, after the war."
"Hyme, huh? Why?"
"Well, there is an old acquaintance there. So I wanted to meet her."
"Is that so? Very well."

We then continued to talk for a bit after which Ultima left. Finally it was Carrera who came in. The most troublesome one.

"Milord, you called for me?"
"Yes. Take a seat."

She then quickly took her seat. Looking at her expressions, I am sure Agera already lectures her about what she did.

"First of all, what you did was in no way wrong, yet it wasn't the best way to do things. I am sure Agera has already given you a lecture about this."
"Hai. Rimuru-sama. I am extremely sorry."
"Well then. Let's end it at that. What you have done is done. Can't change that. So, let's use this to our advantage."

Carrera just quizzingly looked at me as i continued to speak.

"You see, both Testarossa and Ultima used nuclear magic, I am sure you know about that."
"Hai."
"So, as no one other than us knows about this, i will make it look like the nuclear magic casted by Testarossa and Ultima was also cast by you."
"Huh? But what would this achieve?"
"Simple. I get to keep Testarossa and Ultima hidden on paper. Even if the kings of different countries know about them, they can't do anything regarding it. By countries, I mainly mean the Empire."

"I see."
"Also, here." I say as i give a katana to her. I heard from Agera that she had started to learn sword fighting, so I decided to give this to her.

"This is?"
"It's a special katana. You could also call it a magic sword. It can store and cast magic on your behalf. If used properly, you can attack with magic spells and sword at the same time. Use it well, and learn properly from Agera."
"Hai."

After that, Carrera took her leave. I wonder what I should do now.

2 days later...

Some of my subordinates have woken up, but the others are still in their evolutionary slumber. I wonder what decides how long it takes. Just as I was thinking that, a maid came in.

"Rimuru-sama, someone wants to meet you."
"Bring them here."

The maid bowed and went outside for a moment. Then she came back, accompanied by another maid. The only thing different is that this maid doesn't work here. Rather, she works for Guy. Yep, the maid in front of me is Rain.

"Rain? What brings you here?"
"It is a pleasure to meet you again, Demon Lord Rimuru-sama. My master, Guy-sama and the true dragon, Velzard-sama have decided to pay a visit to you."
"Is that so? Isn't this quite convenient. To come right after we had a war with your 'Master's' arch nemesis."

Rain just stood there without saying anything, but I could feel that her inner feelings were in a turmoil.

"Whatever. When is he coming?"
"Tomorrow, at this hour."
"Did he tell you why he was coming?"
"My apologies. I do not have a clue regarding this matter."
"Is that so? Well, I am pretty sure why he wants to come here. Anyways, are you going back? If not, you can stay here."
"Thank you for you offer, but I will be returning."
"Is that so? What a shame. Do come tomorrow."
"Hai." Rain then bowed and left.

"Tell Shuna to prepare the most luxurious room for tomorrow." I tell the maid who standing beside the door the entire time.
"Understood." She then bowed and took her leave. I am sure he is coming due to the evolution of my subordinates. I didn't hide it from his spies after all.

But, The Frost Dragon? I wonder how strong she is. I turn my head towards my table, where the paperwork should have been, but now it's done. I finally can rest easy.

Just as I was about to teleport to my room, Cien entered the room.

"I am sorry to bother you this late Rimuru-sama, but Testarossa-sama said that these are important papers and requires your immediate attention."

"Is that so? Keep it on my table."
"Understood." He then left them on my table. There were like five pages. This shouldn't be long. Let's finish this and go to sleep.

I sit down and pick up the first page. A civil war in Kingdom of Laverra? If I recall correctly, it was a small kingdom.

<Correct, master. It is a small country to the east of Ingrassia. It was also the country which was involved in the scandal regarding the Magitrain.>

Thanks for the information, partner. I then continue to flip through the pages.

Looks like Ingrassia is also mobilizing its army. I guess that is understandable, their border could be in peril. I guess I will tell Testarossa to not intervene.
