Testarossa's POV
As I enter the castle, one of the maids leads me to the meeting room. The person that I am going to meet is one of the ex-Duchesses of the Empire. Though the maid appeared to be quite composed, the truth couldn't be hidden from me. I am a demon, and smelling the fear from her is as easy as a child's play for me.
Once she brought me to a room, she simply bowed and left. She didn't speak a single word. As I open the door and walk in, I see the person I was looking for. Lily, the current Duchess of Silberia.
"It's nice to meet you Lady Li-" Before I could even finish my greeting, she bowed towards me and said, " It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Blanc-sama, no, Testarossa-sama."
"Huh?" I was so surprised that I couldn't even hide my surprise.
"I have read all about the history of my family, and how my family has a deal with the White Primordial Testarossa-sama."
Why do you know about something that old?
"Ah! You must be wondering why I know about this. Well that's because my great grandmother always emphasised on what you had done for us. Especially before the Lakeshore Dyed Scarlet incident."
"It has been nearly 200 years since then, I didn't think humans like you would remember what had happened."
"I have nothing to say to that fact. Compared to long lived stories like you, we humans are quite transient."
"By the way, who told you about me?"
"My great grandmother was the elder sister of Blanche, the one who you had to possess.""Ah. I remember her. She was quite talented. Is she still alive?"
"Unfortunately, no.""I see."
"About this territory, it is just like it was 200 years ago."
"Wait doesn't that mean?"
"Hai, Testarossa-sama, you are still worshipped here as a diety."
I still remember those times. Just because I tried to save them against the Empire, they started seeing me as some kind of diety. At the time I didn't like it. I mean, only Ultima would like something like this, I guess.
"I am sure no one would object that you rule over this territory, just like you used to do."
Silberia has always been a small countryside. With most of its population centred around the castle city. Well, if it helps my objective, then I won't complain.
"Well, sorry to disappoint you, but I will not be ruling over this territory. I want you to continue looking over this territory for me."
"Understood." She said.
"I will be heading to the lake."
"That Lake?"
"Yes. That Lake.""Understood."
I then left the room and went towards the lake. It is a bright blue Lake with the sun glimmering at its surface. Seeing this now, nobody could even guess that this lake is where thousands of people died by my hands. Tch. And I was so close to incarnating as well. Oh well. Thinking about that won't help me.
I continue to walk into the lake. I create a barrier around me to prevent any water from reaching me. I continue walk deeper into the lake. Once I had reached the centre of the lake, there was a large coffin on the floor of the lake. Just like me, it was surrounded by a barrier to prevent any water from seeping into it. It had magic cast on it to prevent degradation of the body inside it.
At that time, I would have never guessed that I would come back here, let alone as a Devil Lord with enough strength to revive her. I wouldn't have believed if anyone told me there was a way to revive her.
Even though I have her body and soul, her soul had been completely severed from her body. She would have to inhabit the body again. Just like how a demon incarnated itself into a body. But unlike demons, her soul would not be strong enough. But now, I can protect her soul, due to my Ultimate skill.
I am so glad I protected her soul. I am sure she doesn't want to revive, but I am a demon. I can be selfish at times like these, can't I?
As I revive her, I take her body back to the surface with me. Even though the soul has incarnated into the body, it will still take some time for her soul to get accustomed to her body. I take her back to the castle where she kept on sleeping throughout the day.
That night...
As I was looking through all the reports, there was nothing or of the ordinary. The taxes were quite high, as expected of a military Empire. But, under Tempest, their taxes will be reduced a bit. Also, since Tempest doesn't have monsters pay taxes, it will be a good source of income.
It's not like we are giving monsters any special privileges. It's just that, most of them work for literally free. Till the time they have a house, good food and can live comfortably, they don't mind.
They are so much different than humans. They are so greedy, that I sometimes question which one of them are monsters.
As i continued to decide what the future policies should be, Blanche woke up. She was lying on the bed in my room. Of course I didn't do anything to her. I am not a lust-craven vampire now, am I?
She slowly woke up and looked around.
"Blanc? I thought you were going to take over my body today?" She asked half drowsy and half weak.
Looks like she doesn't remember anything.
"It had been nearly 200 years since we last talked. At least for me." I tell her.
She looks around confused. For her, it hasn't even been a day, but for me, more than two centuries have passed. I then tell her about what all happened, how I was summoned by Rimuru-sama and got named.
Throughout the story she just quietly listen to me and once I had finished, she looked towards me and asked, "So you won't incarnate into my body?"
"No. No, I won't."
She kept looking at me with her shiny pinkish red eyes as tears started to slowly form and soon broke out, as if a dam had been broken.
"Wa~aaah." She busy out crying. I just silently console her. Her entire life, she had lived as a sacrifice for me. I cared for her a lot, but incarnating was much more important to me that time. But now, maybe I have become less aggressive.
3rd person POV
The night continued as the girl continued to cry through it, consoled by the one who was the darkness in her life, and also the ray of light that broke through that darkness, Blanche, or rather, now called Testarossa.
Within the next few days, most rules for Silberia was decided, and Testarossa left for Tempest. Blanche remained at Silberia to regain her bearings and decided to support Silberia from the shadows, at least until her official meeting with Rimuru. Meanwhile, the person in question, was busy lamenting over what he had done wrong, and deciding how to proceed, now that the war with the angels was inevitable.
