A few years before Azatoth's death...

Lisa's POV

I woke up as usual this morning, and the maid helped me with the daily morning chores. Today, I had an official birthday party. It's not like, as the princess of the Marius Empire, the largest empire on Lanquis, i didn't have any birthday celebrations before. But this party is very important as it marks my eighteenth birthday, and my coming of age ceremony.

So, to prepare for the party, I had to dress up in one of the most lavish outfits I had ever seen. It was majorly black with purple gradients and gold decorations. It was a great match with my long black hair and my purple eyes. I looked quite beautiful in this outfit, yet this outfit was not comfortable at all. It was tight, especially at my chest.

Whatever. I look good enough. I should give my greetings to my parents first. Just as i thought of that, a maid knocked on my door.

"What is it?"
"His majesty is inviting you to his workplace."
"Understood."

The maid just bowed and left. There is steel about an hour before the party begins, but i guess I should get used to this outfit. Well then, let's go.

I stand up and make my way through the castle and reach my father's workplace. I knock and enter the room. Inside the room were three people.

The man sitting on the desk was my father, and the king of the Marius Empire. Just like me he had black hair, but he had red eyes, unlike me. His face had a few wrinkles, to prove his old age, yet his hair had not begun grating at all.
Sitting on one side of the table was my mother, with brown hair and purple eyes. Her hair are very glossy and straight.

The third person in the room was someone who was like an elder sister to me. Evelyn. She has blue eyes and long bluish white hair, characteristic of the Carlos family.

"Father, a good day to you. I hope you are doing well."
"Yes. Good day. Are you ready for the party?"
"Hai. I was about to go to the ballroom for the main party."
"Is that so? Them I will not take anymore of your time. Go and enjoy yourself."
"Hai." I just bowed and went out of the room.

But, something was odd. They were definitely hiding something from me. And the atmosphere in the room was heavy. He also didn't tell me anything meaningful. I wonder what happened. I stop just outside the door and eavesdrop on the conversation inside.

"Are you sure about this dear?" Mother asked.
"Yes. I agree with her majesty. You should have told her." Evelyn also supported mother.
"But. You know, i don't want to spoil her mood. I want her to enjoy her birthday. After all, it will most likely be the last one, if what you say is true." Father replied.

"It is the truth." Evelyn said.
"I know. You wouldn't lie about something like this." Father confirmed.

What does he mean last one? I moved away and went to enjoy the party, yet that conversation was all that kept repeating in my head.

The next day...

I woke up, not feeling quite well. I couldn't enjoy the party yesterday at all, and say night, that conversation kept me awake. I slowly crept or of the bed and went to the mirror. There is not much sunlight, so i assume it's too early. That is understandable, or else one of the maid would have been here.

I quietly sir down on my bed, pondering over what our could be that my parents were talking about work Evelyn. But now that i calmed down, i could hear that a lot of commotion was going on outside. I opened the door to look outside and saw Evelyn coming towards my room. Seeing me, she seemed relieved and made haste towards my room.
