Later, everyone needed had been gathered up. Well, Scooby was nowhere to be seen at the moment, but Shaggy did come across him earlier so they knew Scooby at least was alive and well.
"Well done, you four." Ozpin comments
"I still think the method of how you caught...whoever this is....were a bit outlandish." Glynda comments, pinching the bridge of her nose. "But, Ozpin told me to look on the bright side that you kids stopped a threat."
"It's a bit of a weird story." Fred says as some cops that had been called came over and restrained the ghost
"Well, now it's time to, like, see who this ghostly creep really is under all this stuff." Shaggy comments
Daphne pulled the mask off, revealing that the Black Reaper of Beacon was none other than.......
"Kuro, the groundskeeper??!?!?!!?!!!??"
"Had a funny feeling about him this entire time." Glynda comments
"Had a feeling it was him." Velma says
"How, if you don't mind me asking, did you know it was him?" Port asks
"You see, professor Port, I first had my suspicions personally that it was him when Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby mentioned he had vanished right before the ghost showed up." Velma explained. "You see, this whole time he was after that old bag of Dust Scooby found."
"You mean this stuff?" Shaggy comments, looking at the bag
Velma nodded.
"When he figured out it really was buried on school grounds on accident, he brought the Black Reaper of Beacon Academy to life." Daphne explained. "He even managed to make it look like he could fly."
"How did he do that?" one of the students in the area asked
"Take a look." Fred says after some silence, pulling the costume down a little. "He had a silent jetpack hidden in the back of the costume."
"So, like, all those holes were him searching for the Dust?" Shaggy asks
"Mhm." Velma says. "And he was trying to scare away people who were getting too close to his search."
"He painted the costume in some phosphorescent paint." Daphne says, lifting up part of the ghost's cloak. "Realized that when it had rubbed off on Fred's net we used to trap the spook."
"Too bad Shaggy's quite the runner otherwise we might never have stopped his plans." Velma comments
"Too bad indeed!!!" Kuro snapped. "I would've made billions if you kids hadn't started poking your noses where they didn't belong!"
Kuro broke free and started to run for it.
"He's getting away!" Ozpin exclaimed
However, when Kuro was about to turn to avoid a hole he had dug in the past, a tail stuck out of the nearby bush, tripping him into the hole.
"What in the....?" Velma comments
Scooby came out of the bush, quietly snickering.
"Good going, Scooby!!" Shaggy cheered
"Way to go, Scoob!" Fred comments
The cops went over and pulled Kuro out of the hole, cuffing him in order to take him away. At last, the ghost was finally dealt with and had been exposed.
"To think all this time, the prototype Dust stuff mentioned in the legend was real." Daphne comments. "Wonder what's gonna get done with it."
"No one can say for sure." Ozpin said as he walked over. "All that can be said is that you kids and your dog did excellent work. Though we will have to spend a while finding a new groundskeeper. Hopefully one that doesn't plot anything nefarious."
"Yeah, the dude was good at his job when not doing suspicious things." Daphne comments as the police took off in the airship they arrived in, taking Kuro with them. "Gotta give him credit for that."
