The next few missions for the Bad Batch and Cain were uneventful, somewhat boring but tiresome. Cain had fallen asleep in the seat in front of the big screens, meant to be watching the map for incoming ships.

Alyssa had returned to Coruscant with Delta Squad to retrieve something that they hadn't disclosed to anyone outside of their team. Cain had a hunch that they were going to tell the Jedi about what happened, since it largely concerned a previous member of their Order.

It had taken Cain a few days of endless puzzling of why his father, Darren, had objected to letting them go, then did. Eventually it occured to Cain that his mother, Illa, would have tracked them if she had let them go herself, so Darren had distracted her and let them go without anything attached. He was grateful, but that didn't make up the years they were absent from the twin's lives.

Cain's thoughts kept drifting back to Quinton. What did he mean by keeping them alive? Who wanted them?

And Obi-Wan wasn't their brother, but their cousin? What exactly happened that Illa was entrusted with caring for him? Cain had no doubt that Obi-Wan was older than himself and Alyssa, but there were so many gaps in why, and what happened.

Cain slowly roused from sleep when he felt nudging on his shoulder. He slightly opened his eyes with a grimace, seeing the bright light and it amplifying a headache that was starting to approach.

"We need to go," Hunter told him once he'd noticed Cain stirring.

Cain cleared his throat. "What's it this time?" He asked, sitting up and rubbing at his temples. Oh this headache was going to get worse, so much worse.

"We're at a meet-up point where we need to escort a Senator to a world." Hunter walked out of the ship, putting his helmet on.

Cain yawned and put his helmet on, following Hunter out of the Marauder.

"Who's the Senator?" Cain asked, stretching.

"Said she knew you? Senator Mayaserana Catuli, married to Urek Yesek. That's all we got given about her status," Hunter explained and approached the other ship, a simple shuttle. A woman of medium height with straight brown hair and professionally dressed walked out of the shuttle with two Senate Guards trailing her. She flashed a charming smile at Hunter, who by seemed a bit startled by it.

The slight wind was blowing her words away, especially at the distance Cain still stood from the shuttle. However he managed to catch what was said, "guards, you may return to Coruscant. I have all the protection I will need," the Senator instructed with a kind tone. The guards nodded, saluted and walked back into the shuttle, while she was escorted to the Marauder by Hunter.

Cain stood aside of the ramp and watched the landscape behind the Senator's back, making sure she wasn't being aimed at or followed. He followed them in when he deemed it was fine and the ramp closed. The Marauder lifted off and Cain returned to his seat, taking his helmet off and wanted to go back to sleep.

"This is a cosy ship you have here, Sergeant," she observed with a small smile.

"Make yourself at home," Hunter told her and went into the cockpit.

The Senator watched Hunter walk away. "Looks like it's just me and you, Cain," she said and moved a crate in front of him.

"Hello, Mayaserana," Cain greeted. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"
