I've known an ache
The kind where you dance on stars
While the earth begs for your feet
Calling you
To come where you think
You belong
I've known a peace
The kind where poetry
Checks the mark
As your only friend
While you lay awake and think
Will this ever end?
I've known a hurt
The kind that stays
Keeping you hostage
While it fills you slow
Until you feel hollow
I've known the void
Where tears wake you up
With stinging cheeks
And the mountain peeks
Seem dimmer then the day before
I've known guilt
Like a cup at my feet
I drink
Poisoning myself
With defeat
I've known stillness
In what it gives
And makes me feel
Astray
Never forgiving
Stillness is
I've known so many years
Flying away without a wimper
Unforgiving the nights
That have given me
Everything to strive
And not survive for
Forever repeating
Who I could've been
While telling me
I'll never be meeting them
