Chapter 12 - Traps?

Ranpo Edogawa POV

"President?"

I ask through a lollipop in my mouth.

A certain question has been weighing on my mind since this mission started.

"Yes, Ranpo?"

He answers, looking down at me while I continue looking over the edge of the mountain.

"What do you think about the old man?"

I can tell Haruno and Poe give each other a nervous look.

Even if they're standing behind me.

"Well,"

He sighs, looking down for a split second then right back up.

"He's always been a bit off but now,"

I look up at him, opening my eyes.

"He's been rather... suspicious."

Michizou Tachihara POV

Our group of four continue to walk through the now annoyingly busy woods.

I can tell the other two are hoping we find someone else so they aren't stuck with two Hunting Dogs much longer.

I can also tell Teruko is extremely bored, her every now and then huffing can be heard by all three of us and there's no doubt Gin's already started tuning it out.

"Teruko. Tachihara."

Huh?

Jouno?

"Ugh! What do you want?"

Well now she's even more annoyed.

And I have to deal with her!

"Is something wrong, Jouno?"

I ask, hoping it'll keep him from getting annoyed but it doesn't stop Teruko from sending a glare my way.

The uneasiness from Gin and Junichiro is so strong I can tell they do not like Jouno very much.

"The enemies have started to separate everyone from their groups. I need you to keep an eye out and make that you four don't get separated."

I quietly gulp and Teruko groans while rolling her eyes.

She places her hands on her hips with a huff.

"Yes sir."

I say as calmly as possible.

Teruko can clearly tell I'm not as calm as I'm trying to come off as and maybe Gin can tell to.

"Ugh!! Fine whatever we'll stick together. Don't worry about it."

She spits out, rolling her eyes again.

What she's thinking is so obvious I have no doubt the others can tell too.
