Chapter 9 - One Member Down

Michizou Tachihara POV

Me and Tanizaki are running through the very crowded woods.

Doing our best to use the surrounding area to keep us hidden the best we can.

Neither of us have a clue who we're up against.

Or what the meaning of this collaboration mission is.

No one does.

Well, very few do.

All everyone has been told is it's dangerous.

And we're surrounding the enemies base.

"Hey... don't you thinks it's about time we were told who we're fighting?"

Tanizaki calls out from my left.

Catching my attention.

"It would help us out a lot..."

He mumbles quietly.

Just not as quietly as he thinks.

"Yes. It would. Though we aren't in any position to force them to tell us. Case is they're most likely worried about a traitor."

"I guess that makes sense..."

He agrees.

Going quiet for a few seconds while we continue to run.

"But... not even our bosses closet members know! Other than Ranpo and Dazai who's probably figured it out by now!"

I have no doubt Jouno knows too.

Teruko might.

But otherwise Jouno certainly does.

If he wasn't told, he figured it out through gossip.

A let a little chuckle slip form the hit of anger in his voice.

"Have... you guys had any new enemies lately?"

I shake my head.

"From what I can recall, we haven't had any new enemies."

I glance down at the "moving" ground for a moment.

Then look right back ahead of me.

"If could be the Guild, rumour has it they're back in business."

I can tell Tanizaki starts to panic.

"But we defeated them! We..."

I quickly move closer to him.

Now running directly at his side.

Placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Calm down."
