Gin Akutagawa

I felt a small tear slide down my cheek.

How could anyone do that to their children?

I get the Port Mafia isn't perfect. Not one bit.

But.

These were their children. How could they do that to their own children?

"Gin? Are you alright?"

Hirotsu asks me as I feel his thumb brush away my tear.

I grab the pencil, writing again.

I'm ok

I paused before continuing to write.

Is that why they are the way they are?

"Yes. It's what they've been taught."

For how long?

How long has this been happening and we didn't know?

"Gin,"

Hirotsu speaks to me again. Turning my view away from the notebook, I look at him.

"It's alright. Would you like to move on?"

I give him a nod after taking another breath.

"Good. The Hunting Dogs, at least three of them, from what I know, are now focusing on finding Tachihara and the agencies illusionist, it's our job to work on catching the Guild,"

Leave the creepy and suspicious bastard to the Hunting Dogs, got it.

Not a problem since I can't do anything.

Have they found them yet?

I write down on the notebook.

They probably haven't but it feels wrong not to ask.

"As far as I know they have not as of yet."

I look away from him, turning my attention to all of the other people in the room.

It doesn't feel right to be surrounded by military personnel. But what can we do?

I turn back to my notebook, picking the pen back up.

Hirotsu, can you get her back here?

"The girl that was next to you before?"

I give him a nod at his question.

"Very well, do you know her name?"

Tsumiki Suzuki

"Alright, I'll go ask."

I nod, placing the pen ontop of the book.

As I wait, watching Hirotsu turn behind a wall, I finally realize I have time to think.

Not in the middle of the battlefield, or beside someone who's supposed to be my enemy.
