Okura Teruko POV
"On three."
I say, standing in the middle of both of them.
Directly in front of the door.
My hand on the handle of my sword.
"Three..."
Jouno takes a small step backwards.
Moving his head left to right a few times before focusing on the area in front of him.
Even if he couldn't see it.
"Two..."
Tecchou's standing with his sword armed.
I'm not even sure if he's blinking right now.
Ready to pounce at any second.
At my words.
"One!"
*BANG!*
The door falls to the ground beneath my foot, as it does my eyes lock with someone.
"Certainly not him."
Jouno says from, now, beside the kid.
I hate how he just floats around like that. It's really annoying.
But he's right. It's not Tachihara, the illusionist, or the man who took them.
In fact, it's a little girl.
"Whats your name, kid?"
I say after a moment.
"U-uhm, Aya Koda..."
Aya Koda, hm?
Shes far too young to be here. Certainly no older than 12, at best.
"What're you doing here?"
She turns around at my question before turning back to me and looking around my side of the room.
"A cat brought me here... he was orange and, uhm, white and had black spots,"
An orange and white cat, with black spots brought it a child into a maze of secret underground tunnels?
For what reason ever?
It's definitely not any normal cat. Probably an ability user.
But why ever would an ability user purposely pretend to be a cat to lurer a, not even, 12 year old girl into underground tunnels?
Actually. I retract that statement.
Plenty would.
"But he started hearing things and ran that way."
The girl says, turning and pointing to a small crevice in the wall.
Just big enough for something of a cats side. How cute.
