This chapter is a little rushed near the end since it's been so long since I've updated it and I wanted to make sure you guys had a new chapter!

I'll make sure the next chapter is longer and better written

Saigiku Jouno POV

"Good luck. Holler if you find him. From what we know, he's most likely injured. Suzuki's ready for a call at any moment."

"Very well. Good luck, vice-commander."

I say, turning around and walking down the tunnel opposite of Teruko. Tecchou following in suit.

The walk back to where they split off into multiples is quiet, neither of us saying a word.

Well, at least not for awhile.

"What tunnel would you like?"

Tecchou asks all of a sudden, interrupting the silence I was very much enjoying.

Although, it was a reasonable question, so I suppose hitting him wouldn't do much.

I let out a somewhat annoyed sigh.

"I'll take the furthest one."

We emerge from the tunnel to where they split off, walking straight to the one I'm going down.

"Very well."

Tecchou replies as I hear him walk over to the entrance of the last one.

"Good luck."

He says after I hear him turn around. He must be facing me and so I do the same.

"Good luck. Holler over the intercom if you find him."

I say, turning back around enough to know I'm now facing the tunnel and not Tecchou.

I hear his footsteps again, heading down the tunnel.

Great. Now I don't have to listen to his annoyingly loud heartbeat.

It isn't that difficult to quiet it down. I don't get why he prefers it to be so loud.

Perhaps to annoy me. He's good at that.

One of the only things he's truly good at I suppose.

My feet begin to move as I start walking down the tunnel.

The air is getting thinner each step I take and it's doing so quite quickly.

Hm. Must be going deeper then.

My guess would be they all go deeper and deeper into the ground. Making the air thinner and harder for people to get around with the lack of oxygen.

It's a good tactic I'll give him that but it doesn't matter when the people going through said tunnels are us.

We've been through a lot to be able to do what we do, thinner air isn't going to change how we do anything.
