7: Art project

Ren Greens:

We got back to the dorm at 4:39 pm in the afternoon. Then we ran into Caleb, " Oh Ren, why didn't you meet me at the fountain?" I was about to answer, but Leah did for me. " Oh, we were busy and lost track of time, Caleb. Plus you must be running late with something, right. Plus we need to get going, " my sister lied and she took my hand. Then we were going to our dorm room, " But, then why there was a letter next the fountain? With my name on it, " Caleb asked to us, and we paused.

Leah looked at me, " But the letter inside got wet, so the message was wash away, " I sighed in relief, same did Leah. " Oh, probably some random person drop it and has a crush on you. Or whatever, " Leah looked at Caleb with smile. But a fake one, I knew that. Leah is a great liar, she can lie, but she can't lie in front of our parents or else they will get mad. " But you guys know I am demiromantic, right. I like no one, plus I am Aisha. I like her only, " this will hurt Leah.

Leah loves Aisha, but I was surprised. Leah kept her poker face on, she was good at acting as well. I knew that foe sure, I guess Leah already knew they were dating. I was the only person who didn't know until now. " Oh, that's nice. We have to get going, Caleb. Plus we have a lot of things we have to get done. You know how teachers are about the assignments. All the other work, so bye for now."

" But wait-, " but we kept walking, not listening to him. We made to our dorm, and I went to my room. But Leah stop for a bit, " Here are your meds, you really need it. Okay, the doctor said you have to take them after each meal, " she told to me and I nodded. I went into my room and I sat on my chair, I need to figure out what should I do in the meantime. Maybe work on my art project for now. 

I went to plan the rough part this. So I started to draw some flowers, which was the best option. But I don't know what kind of flower I am vomiting out. When I researched about it, it's person's favorite flower of the victim. But I don't know what is Caleb's favorite flower. Then I remember, lotuses, fuck. If the person's favorite flower is lotus, the victim will have a slow death.

I don't want a slow death, but I handled it no matter what. I will get through it, then I thought of it. Lotuses, I will do lotuses in the artwork. I started to draw as normal and I kept working on it. Until Leah came into my room, " Hey blooming flower, so what are you doing? " She peered over my shoulder and she looked at my rough sketch. " So this is for your art project, that's look nice. Plus I brought you dinner, I made mom's special dish. I know I am not like your culture, but I would have you guys as my family than biological family. They were Russian, but I think they didn't want me. At least, your parents found me and adopted me. I am glad they did, " then she left the room.

Yep, Leah's biological parents were Russian. But we don't know what happened to them at all. That's all we knew, well me and Leah. Mom and dad never told the rest until Leah was old enough. But she is now, but since we couldn't visit them because of college. Now, soon it will be parents going to visit us in the next few months from now. I looked at the plate of food, and I started to eat my food. Leah cooked pancit, it's a dish in the Philippines. 

After I finished it, I got up, then I went to the kitchen. I saw Leah was in her room, I put the dish in the sink. Then I washed really quick and then I went to my room. I looked at the time, it was 7:47 pm. I been working on the drawing for too long and I decided to see wat Leah is doing. I went to her room and I knocked on her door. I waited for a bit and then she opened the door. 

"Hey Ren, so how is your project going? " She asked to me and I smiled. " It is going great, Lee Lee, " I smiled at her and she smiled back. " But I have a question, " as I sat down on her bed and she looked at me. " Go on, " she said and I sighed, then I glanced at her.

" Why don't you have the hanahaki disease? I mean you love Aisha."

" *Sigh* I lost feelings for her, a very long time ago. So, I don't have it because I lost feelings for her before Aisha started to date Caleb. This is why I never got it."

" But what if someone has the hanahaki sickness and they lose their feelings for the person they like?"

" I don't know, Ren. I don't know, but I will save you from that sickness. If that's means I have to work really hard. Okay, I will get you that treatment. I won't give up on you, like I did with Louis and Lily, " she looked at me with sorrow look on her face. I hugged her and she hugged me back. " I know you will success, Lee Lee, " I smiled at her.

Then we talked for the rest of the evening, we talked about art, boxing and mom and dad. Until I started to cough again, and Leah got up. Then got her trash can and I vomited more blood and flowers petals. I kept vomiting blood and flower petals until after a few minutes. Leah left the room to get some meds and water. When she came back, and I had my hand on my chest. I was breathing heavily, I knew the flowers were grow in my lungs.

" Here some medicine for you, and some water. You really need it, " she gave it to me and I put the pills in my mouth, then I drank the water. I don't know why this is getting worse, I hope there is no stages to this disease, let's hope. " I will go to my room, " then I left Leah's. I went to my room, I can't always stay cooped in my room. I have to do some school work and projects to do. I have a lot to do.

But I am worried about my health, and I can't confess to Caleb. He is dating Aisha, I wish I confessed in time. But life doesn't go your way, like my mom taught me. She was a kind person with a intelligent of very high IQ person. That's one of the reasons dad fell for her, mom was intelligent and she gave the best advice. She was very smart woman.

But we didn't tell mom and dad yet. We will wait a little longer than we wanted. I don't want to worry them so much, I mean they are on the other side of the country. But they are worried about us because we are in Connecticut. They are in Oregon, I sighed and I kept working on my project. Well, I have like a few assignments left, right. I need to get these done in time, I know I am such a busy person. I got that from dad I guess, I sighed and I had my door opened. I looked at Leah's door. 

Why didn't she get the disease, but I did? But she was right about she losing feelings to Aisha, those two were close before Aisha became our enemy. Maybe something happened with her parents, I don't know. But I did remember her saying at the high school grad she was going to tell her parents she was lesbian. I guess that went wrong, then she changed after that. Maybe, I don't know, but I do know she probably told her parents. But her parents are nice, maybe we were right them being homophobic. I mean they look disgusted when they saw a gay couple kissing one time. The world changed, people can be who they want now. But they are just so religious. Yes, I do respect their beliefs. But sometimes you need to open your eyes to the world.

But for now I need to work on this project.
