Prateek Sahay was a big name. After his father he had taken over their family business and introduced it to new heights.
Prateek is a big lover of antique and wants everything around him to be perfect.
Once he sets his eyes on something he would have it either way.
Like right now, he had seen a vase which was supposedly more than 5000 years old and was being auctioned.
"The bid starts at ₹1 crore."
The host announced and the bidding started with Prateek quoting his price.
"₹1.5 crores!"
Before the host could have announced his price another voice spoke.
"₹2 crores!"
Prateek looked across and saw a man in his early 50s smirking at him. Prateek smirked back.
He loved competition.
"₹2.5 crores!"
Prateek quoted.
"₹3 crores!"
"₹3.5 crores!"
Everyone looked between them unable to understand what was going on.
"₹4 crores!"
The man again quoted and Prateek again countered.
"₹4.5 crores!"
The man now seemed to have gotten irritated now. Prateek smirked knowing what he was going to do.
"₹10 crores!"
The man quoted and smirked seeing Prateek got silenced.
The host started announcing.
"₹10 crores one! ₹10 crores two-"
"₹30 crores!"
Everyone was stunned and murmurs erupted everywhere. Why would someone pay so much for a vase.
But Prateek wasn't someone. He would do anything for something he had set his eyes on. And antiques was one of them.
"₹30 crores one! ₹30 crores two! ₹30 crores three! And sold!"
Prateek looked at the man with a victory smirk. The man grumbled and marched out of the hall in anger.
"Bhut mehange shuak hai tumhare."
His father said when he placed the vase in his corridor. His latest showpiece.
Prateek smiled and said.
"Ye bhi toh aapki hi galti hai. Aap hi mujhe bachpan mai aise antiques ke auctions mai le jaate the."
He said and his father laughed.
"Haan bhai! Baat toh sahi hai. Chalo ab kuch ho toh skta nhi. Aur office mai sab kaisa chal raha hai?"
"Achha hai papa!"
He told his father about the latest developments in the office.
"Achha! Before I forget. Mere ek friend ki beti hai. Wo aayegi tere paas. Ek saal ke liye tu usse apni mentorship mai rakh ke business ke baare mai sikha dio. She wants to take over her business. Aur sikhna chahti hai. Vaani Aggarwal naam hai uska."
Prateek nodded and made a note of it. If his father gave him some responsibility it was important. He loved his parents a lot. They were the ones who had given him everything in his life.
Vaani Aggarwal is the daughter of one of the biggest fashion designers in India.
And she too was following her father's footsteps. But her father clearly said that before taking over the company she needs to learn about business and how the business world works.
And he trusted his bestest and one of the oldest friend for it.
It was her first day and Vaani woke up early to get ready for it. She wanted to impress her mentor. And knowing her father was related to him made her even more determined. She would show her father how serious she was for it.
She was sitting in her bathtub covered in foam and the shower in front of her face like a mike.
"Thank you everyone! Thank you for this. I would like to dedicate this award to my father. I love you papa! And secondly to-ouch!"
She slipped and lost her balance making her fall a little inside the tub. You must be thinking how can she slip while sitting.
Well, this is Vaani for you. She can slip even while sleeping. Yes! She is that clumsy.
Girna padna and tutna futna is a normal routine for her. Hadiya aise tudwati hai ye ladki jaise ped se aam.
(She breaks her bones like mangoes from tree.)
Sitting back up straight she quickly washed herself and got out to get ready.
She stood in front of the almirah to figure out what she should wear.
Something that would professional as well as classy.
She decided to go for her cream coloured pants and baby pink shirt. She tucked it inside and was ready to go.
She slipped on her heels for a professional look and her handbag. Whistling at herself in the mirror she swirled on her heels and started off.
Taking her parents' blessings she drove to her father's friend's place.
She parked the car near the address her father sent her. It was a beautiful two storeyed bungalow.
Parking the car she stepped out and got a little disbalanced.
"Vaani! Yaha pr girna nhi hai. Pehla din hai impression banana hai."
She scolded herself for her clumsiness.
Holding her head high she walked inside. The guard at the gate asked for her Id and for what purpose she was there.
She told him politely and the man confirmed and let her in with a polite nod.
Taking a deep breath she entered in. The door was opened by a maid.
She was walking while looking around the place. It was a beautiful house. It gave her homely vibes.
She saw a man of almost her age coming down from the stairs and she stared at him.
In his formal suit he looked dapper. She couldn't take her eyes off him.
In her daze she didn't realise where she was walking and suddenly she hit something and *crash*
Something fell on the ground and broke. Vaani gasped. Her hand flew to her mouth in shock and she heard a loud yell.
"My vase!"
The man she was shamelessly staring at came running towards her. Towards the broken vase to be precise.
He looked at his now broken vase and then glared at her.
"What the hell did you do?"
He yelled marching closer to her with dangerous steps. She gulped and walked back in fear.
