"Tum ban jaao."
She said and he tried his best not to let the wide grin show on his face.
"Mai kyu?"
He asked as if he was not jumping with happiness on the inside.
"Kyunki ek tum hi ho jisse mai trust kr skti hu for not taking advantage of the situation."
He smiled and said.
"Thank you for showing so much trust mam."
She giggled and asked.
"So? Banoge mere fake boyfriend?"
How he wished the question was minus the 'fake'.
He nonetheless grinned. He cupped her face and said.
"Anything to help my best friend."
She clapped her hands excitedly.
"So when are we announcing our relationship?"
He shrugged and said.
"Whenever you want."
"Lekin usse pehle we would need a proper backstory."
"For what?"
He asked and she made a duh face.
"Of how we started dating buddhu."
"Isme sochna kya hai. I proposed."
Ignoring the weird flip her stomach did she asked.
"Aur proposal tha kaise?"
"Tumhe chahiye kaise?"
He counter-questioned and she got silenced. Hmm! Good question.
"Treaure hunt!"
She said suddenly and he chuckled nodding.
"Ok! I proposed through a treasure hunt. Anything else?"
She nodded.
"We have to decide ki ye news sabko bataye kaise? Aise broadcast toh nhi kr skte na. Let's take a day or two and decide aaram se."
He nodded and they finally entered the office.
They decided to announce their relationship on the Diwali party in the office.
How they were going to do so was still not decided.
Right now the two were out for lunch sitting in a cozy cafe.
"Apart from announcing we need to make people believe that we actually are in a relationship."
He said and she looked at him raising her eyebrow while sipping her drink.
"And how do we do that?"
"We have to act like couples usually do. You know holding hands, hugs, loving glances, shy smiles, kisses and caresses."
"You know a lot about dating."
She looked impressed and he chuckled. Why won't he? He had imagined all of it with her more than thousand times.
"So how do we look convincing?"
She asked and he paused trying to find the right words.
"By acting like couples do."
He said shrugging and she looked more confused.
"What I mean is don't act too agressively if I do something unexpected and sudden. Aise react mat kario ki pehli baar hai. Just be natural. As if it happens daily."
She looked at him wide eyed.
"Unexpected and sudden matlab? What are you planning on doing?"
Was he going to kiss her?
He chuckled at her expressions and said.
"Nothing which would not be required. Trust me. Tera advantage nhi uthaunga. Never Navya."
She relaxed. She knew that. She knew he would never do that.
"But haan let me warn you. A little more than how close we are in real life. Toh darr mat jaaio."
She nodded and he looked at her through the corner of his eyes smiling to himself.
He knew this was fake but he just wanted to have her to himself. Even if it's fake.
It was Diwali and there was a puja in their office followed by lunch.
Ahaan got ready in a red kurta and sprayed his favourite cologne on his neck smiling at the mirror.
Today he was going to announce that he was dating Navya. God! It felt surreal. Only he wished it was actually real.
He reached office and waited for Navya. Navya reached a few minutes later and he grinned seeing them twinning.
She smiled widely at him and waved at him walking towards him.
She looked so beautiful in her red suit. Her dupatta was set on her shoulder and open on her arm.
She stood in front of him grinning wide but her smile vanished when the next second he took her in a tight hug.
He had hugged her before but it was always either side hugs or littke hugs where he held her for a second.
But this! This was a tight hug. A proper hug. Her body plastered to his such that she could feel his racing heart.
He pulled back and she looked at him wide eyed. He tucked her hair behind her ear and whispered only for her to hear.
"Close you mouth Navya. You look like you've seen a ghost. Office ke log hai yaha. We have to make them believe right?"
She realised it and looked down trying to hide her blush and wildly racing heart.
She cleared her throat and asked looking at him.
"So how do we announce it?"
He thought for a moment and then smirked.
"Wo bhi pata chal jaayega."
She looked on confused but followed him inside.
The puja started and everyone did it one by one.
Ahaan couldn't take his eyes off her. She was laughing and giggling with the girls in the office.
Their eyes met and they smiled at each other. Ahaan's smile fell when he saw her look at Varun and smiled giving him love eyes.
His jaw clenched but a smirk formed on his face remembering the blush on her face when he hugged her.
He walked towards her with determined steps and snaked his arm around her waist from behind taking her by surprise and placed a kiss on her cheek making her eyes pop out of her sockets.
Her face reddened and he grinned.
"Woah! Guys! Are we missing something?"
The girls around them asked and Ahaan smiled at him while Navya tucked her hair behind her ear biting her lip trying to process what just happened.
"You guys are dating? Oh my God! Since when?"
Ahaan rubbed his neck sheepishly and told them the story they prepared making some of them aww at them while others look at them with envy.
Ahaan saw her trying to gauge the reaction of Varun and tightened his hold on her waist.
