It had been a week since Eshana had started living with her new family. Family. The word sent happy shivers down her spine.
She has always been alone all her life and getting all the love felt so nice. Maybe she would just stay here for some time and the tell them the truth and leave.
She knew it would be difficult but she couldn't lie to them all her life. What if they get to know on their own. Like found the body of their real daughter? Or what if she actually is alive and comes back?
Eshana decided that she would be selfish for some time, live her life and then leave with memories enough to live the rest of her life.
Hridhaan's parents were too happy when they got to know that Eshana was alive.
They wanted to meet her immediately but Hridhaan stopped them saying that it was already too much for her to process and she needed time.
Eshana was thankful to him.
But now they were home to meet her finally and she was currently engulfed in a hug by her supposed mother-in-law.
"God! I am so happy to see you back."
She said cupping her face and Eshana smiled slightly. Hridhaan has his mother's smile.
They all sat down and had their snacks while talking to each other. Even Eshana took part in the conversation.
Strangely, none of it felt unfamiliar. She felt like she belonged here.
"Umm-Eshana- I know you don't remember anything and it must be so difficult for you lekin this too is important. I think you and Hridhaan should talk about your relationship. Tum abhi bhi ye rishta chahti ho ya nhi. I am not forcing you or anything lekin we can't keep this relationship hanging if you don't want it."
His mother said and Eshana looked at Hridhaan who looked at his mother. She didn't tell him she was going to have this conversation.
"Maa!"
He exclaimed and Eshana smiled.
"You're right aunty. I can't keep Hridhaan hanging because of me."
He looked at her with a slight fear in his eyes. Was she going to deny this relationship.
He had started to like her. When their parents were talking he got up and went out towards the balcony.
She followed him and saw him leaning against the railing.
"Hridhaan!"
He didn't turn and she stood beside him. He looked tense.
Suddenly turning towards her he asked.
"I want an honest answer Eshana. No pressure or force. Do you want this relationship?"
She was taken aback. She didn't know. Living with someone's family as someone else and top of that marrying her fiance?
Could she be that selfish? But seeing the emotions in Hridhaan's eyes for her-no for Eshana she felt selfish.
"I-I don't know."
She mumbled and he sighed.
"Let's do one thing. Give me one month. Let's go on dates and get to know each other. Or uske baad bhi you think you don't like me ya you don't want to be with me. Then its fine."
He said and she looked at him. He then took off the ring on his ring finger. His engagement ring. She looked at him shocked.
"Agar pasand aa jaau toh wapas pehna dena. Also I'll need to get another ring for you in case your answer is a yes."
He said winking and left her there with the stumped expression.
Two minutes later when she processed everything she blushed. How was he effortlessly smooth.
The upcoming Sunday she was home and was doing her office work.
Her phone rang and she picked up without looking at the caller Id.
"Hey!"
"Hello? Who is this?"
She asked distractedly and heard a loud, dramatic gasp.
"You haven't saved my number yet. I am hurt. I am so hurt babe."
"Hridhaan?"
"You've hurt me a lot Eshana."
She rolled her eyes and said.
"Ho gaya drama?"
"Haan!"
He said and she chuckled.
"Achha listen. Are you free this evening?"
She raised her eyebrow and said mischeviously.
"Depends on why you are asking."
He too laid back on his bed with a goofy smile and said.
"Will you go out on a date with me?"
She bit her lip and asked.
"What if I say no?"
"Toh mai dobara puchhunga."
"Aur agar mai phir bhi mana kr du toh?"
"Toh mai phir puchhunga. Jab tak tum pareshan ho kar haan nhi kr deti."
He said with a wide grin and she laughed.
"Let's cut you the exercise. Kaha le jaa rhe ho?"
"Surprise!"
"Achha atleast tell me what should I wear?"
"Anything casual. Preferably not dresses."
She hummed and bit her lip after disconnecting the call. She squealed in her pillow and then grinned wide.
She didn't even remember when she was so happy last time.
He took her to the science emporium and told her that he remembered her telling him how science fascinated her once.
She truly was fascinated. They were driving back home and she was looking at Hridhaan driving with the smile never leaving his face she realised that he made her happy.
Something sprouted in her heart at the moment and she knew that she could never go back to where she was 2 weeks back.
He stopped the car in front of her home and they got out.
Standing in front of each other they just smiled.
"We just went on our first date."
He said and she nodded. His eyes turned mischevious and he said.
"Don't you think we should make it memorable with a kiss?"
She knew he was teasing her. But her eyes widened when he leaned in. She closed her eyes and clutched the jacket she wore on her top tightly.
He smiled seeing her nervous expression and softly placed his lips on her forehead. She smiled as her heart skipped a beat.
How can someone be so perfect and gentlemanly.
