"You're right! I might not know everything about her. But aunty does right?"
Hridhaan didn't have any words now and Esha felt like her breakfast would come out now.
"And you know what aunty said when I asked her about it. She was shocked. She said that Eshana never had such a birthmark."
She then looked at Esha and said looking dead in her eyes.
"But Esha di did. Right di?"
Hridhaan looked at Esha shocked. He would have yelled at Jas for sprewing such nonsense if not for the expression ok his wife's face.
She looked ready to puke and faint. Like she was caught committing a murder.
"That's not possible. Right Eshana?"
He asked looking at her praying her to deny. But she looked at him with tears streaming down her face and said.
"I-I am sorry Hridhaan. Mai aapko batana chahti thi but I was scared you would leave me after knowing the truth. Hridhaan I love you. Hridhaan! Hridhaan please trust me."
She pleaded but he got up and paced around his place. He was shocked, confused, felt betrayed and what not.
"You're not the woman I thought you are. You are not Eshana. You are Esha."
He whispered processing the things and Esha cried further.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
He whispered still not able to grasp the truth.
"I tried. But aap nera yakeen hi nhi kr rhe the."
"Uske baad bata skti thi. Tab toh mai sirf tumhari hi sunta tha na. Kabhi bhi bta skti thi Esha. What about after finding out the truth? Tab kyu nhi bataya?"
He asked angrily and she bowed her head.
"I was scared. Ki sach janne ke baad you won't want to be with me. I never had anyone whole my life Hridhaan. Aur jab aap mujhe mile mai selfish ho gayi. I am sorry Hridhaan. I know I should have told you lekin - Hridhaan where are you going?"
She asked panicked as he started walking out.
"I DON'T WANT TO STAY WITH A CHEATER AND A LIAR ANYMORE!"
He yelled and Esha looked at him wide eyed.
"Kya? Hridhaan! Hridhaan! Please! Come back please! Don't leave me Hridhaan. I love you. Please!"
She whispered brokenly seeing him walk out of the house. Out of her life.
She fell on the ground as if suddenly lost all her energy. Jas was standing there looking at her with tears in her eyes.
"I didn't want any of it to happen. Isliye even after knowing the truth I waited. Ki shayad aap khud sabko sach bta do. But when you didn't I couldn't keep quite. I couldn't see someone else taking my Eshana's place."
Esha wasn't upset with Jas. She did what Esha should have done long ago.
"So that means Eshana is really gone?"
She asked in a broken whisper and Esha just closed her eyes letting the tears fall without any barrier.
Jas's eyes also teared up and she wiped them hurriedly.
"I am going to tell uncle aunty about it. They would love to meet you Esha di."
She whispered and left. Esha just sat there looking like she just lost everything.
It was almost an hour later when Hridhaan's parents, her parents and her younger sister came running inside.
They were shocked to see Esha's condition. Face stained with dried tears, eyes looking like she lost everything.
Her mother sobbed and pulled her daughter in her arms.
"Bataya kyu nhi? Itne samay se hamare saath thi lekin mujhe khabar tak nhi thi. Tujhe kitna dhunda tha maine aur tere papa ne. Meri kismat toh dekho. Do betiyan janmi thi maine. Lekin ek hi ke saath reh paayi. Pehle tu chhin gayi aur ab Eshana. Jab ek hi ka saath likha tha toh do di hi kyu bhagwaan."
Her mother cried clutching her daughter to her heart.
Esha looked at her and asked.
"Aap mujhse naraz nhi ho mumma? Maine aapse sach chhupaya."
She shook her head and kissed it softly.
"Nhi mera bacha. Koi maa apne bache se kaise naraz ho skti hai."
She turned to her father and Hridhaan's parents.
"Aap log bhi nhi ho?"
Her father shook her head and hugged her princess close to himself as if hiding her from the world.
"Nhi beta. Whatever happened uske zarur unki marzi rahi hogi. Aur hum hote kaun hai unki marzi ke aage koi shikayat krne wale."
Hridhaan's mother said and patted her back. They made her sit on the couch with Manisha, her younger sister sticking to her from one side, while her mother hugging her close from another.
"Maa!"
She called after some time looking towards her mother-in-law.
"Hridhaan mujhse naaraz hai. Unhone kaha ki wo mere saath nhi rehna chahte."
She said in a cracking voice. Her throat felt clogged.
Her mother in-law smiled sadly and said.
"Gusse mai hai abhi. Jo muh mai aaye bolta hai. Gussa shant hote hi daudte huye aayega tumhare paas."
She again hid her face in her mother's chest. Looking back up after some time she called her mother.
"Mumma!"
"Haan mera bacha."
"Mai pregnant hu."
Everyone around her fell silent for a few seconds.
"Mai Hridhaan ko call lagata hu."
His father spoke up walking a little away from them and the rest of the people showered her with love and blessings.
Hridhaan didn't pick up but his mother knew he would come back soon.
They stayed with her till evening and finally on her insistence left for their homes.
Esha was finally alone and it was almost 8 pm.
Hridhaan was still not home and she felt her eyes tear up again.
She said on the bed with her head resting back on the headrest.
"I am sorry Hridhaan. Please come back. I love you."
She whispered and kept her palm softly on her belly and smiled with tears. Their baby was their.
"I love you my baby."
That was the last thing she whispered before black dots formed in front of her eyes and she lost her consciousness.
