Diya reached her office. Her employees greeted her with smiles which she too returned warmly.
She entered her cabin and opened her laptop.
"Kirti! Kirti? Send me the Kapoor's Project File."
She called for her PA but there was no reply. She called again but still no reply.
She intercommed her but there was no answer. Finally gettig frustrated she got up and walked to her cabin only to find it empty and groaned remembering that she was on her maternity leave.
"How can I forget it?"
She groaned holding her head.
She called the HR department and asked them the status of the recruitment of a temporary PA.
"Mam tomorrow is the last round of interviews and within this week your new PA would join work."
She was informed. Thanking them she disconnected the call. Ok! She could manage one week. That's what she thought.
Diya Khanna. A self made businesswoman. She could have joined her father's business but she wanted to do something of her own.
So when she proposed her business idea to her father he supported her and became her first investor. Finding two more investors on the basis of her project and capabilities she started her start-up.
And fast forward 6 years she is one of the biggest and richest businesswomen in India.
Her phone pinged distracting her for a moment. She peeked in and saw a message from her mother. A video to be exact.
She played the video and a smile formed on her face. She leaned back and watched him with a wide smile. She loved him so much.
Sending lots of heart emojis and love you messages she kept her phone aside with that smile still on her face. Her mood was fine again.
Jagrav Maheshwari was what people call the ameer baap ka beta. He was the topper of his class and very intellectual and intelligent but there was one defect in him. His mountain sized ego.
His father refused to hand him the business which he knew he was deserving of which pissed him off and hurt his ego.
"Jagrav? Ye kya bachho wali harkatein hai? Pure din baithke sirf video game khelta rehta hai. Ek mahine se dekh rha hu. What is all this?"
His father yelled and Jagrav rolled his eyes still shooting on the screen.
"Wo kya hai na mere dad ko lagta hai mai business ke layak nhi hu. Bacha hu abhi. So mai bas unki baat sach krne ki koshish kr rha hu."
He said making his father more angry.
"Mr. Jagrav Maheshwari!"
His father shouted and Jagrav finished his game and got up.
"Kya dad? Business aap mujhe de nhi rhe. What do you want me to do?"
"Businessman kehte ho tum khudko? Then prove you are one. Lekin usse pehle ye samajhna zaruri hai ki businessman ki wajah se business hota hai. Business ki wajah se businessman nhi. So what if I am not handing you over my business. Apna khud ka set up kro. Start from the beginning. You think you deserve to take over my business right. Then show me your worth. You said you had a proposal. Ek saal deta hu tumhe. Get investors and start that business. Aur agar tum ek saal mai ye kr paye toh mai business khushi khushi tumhare naam kr dunga."
His father said and Jagrav looked at him with a contemplating expression.
"Aur haan. Tab tak apna kharcha khud uthao. Find yourself and job and as soon as you find one rent a place and live your life. Tumhari ye jo ego hai na isse khatam krna padega."
He looked at his father wide eyed.
"Dad?"
"Jee dad ke puttar. Go find a job. Kisi layak ban jaao tab aana apna haq maangne."
He said dismissing his son and Jagrav groaned.
And that's how he ended up at this job interview. This was the final round.
The first one happened over telephone where they just asked his basic personal information. The second round was in the office where they asked him the questions that were asked in every interview.
When he got the mail that he had cleared the interview he was too happy. Then he read further and got to know that he still didn't get the job and had to clear another round of interview.
The final round happened a day back and there were four other candidates with him. They were all made to sit in one room.
After some time a man entered and started yelling on someone over call very loudly.
Everyone judged the man and made faces but no one said anything. Jagrav got up and asked the man to speak a little politely as it was disturbing the others and it was a public place.
The man argued but Jagrav explained him very politely that it was his personal issue and he should resolve it at home. The man went away and all of them were called back out.
They were told that the interview was over and they could leave. Everyone was shocked. No one came to them for the interview then when did it happen.
They nonetheless left and were expecting a mail either confirming or denying them the job anytime.
Jagrav had been refreshing his mail since an hour. He refreshed again and a mail popped up making him sit up in alarm.
He huffed when he realised it was another promotional mail. Plugging in his laptop charger he slumped on the bed and in no time he was off.
Next when he woke up, he looked around trying to figure out where he was. When he was sober enough he got up and unplugged his charger.
Refreshing another time, his hands came to a stop. A mail was there since an hour ago. A mail from the company he interviewed at.
Muttering a quick prayer he quickly skimmed through the contents and jumped happily in his room.
