"Aise beech mai kaun rakhta hai vase ko?"
She asked trying to keep her nervousness at bay.
First of all, she broke his vase. Which to be honest looked quite precious. And second, he was super hot.
"Mera ghar mera vase mai jaha marzi rakhu. Tum apni aankhon ka istemaal nhi kr skti kya chalte waqt?"
He yelled and she looked at the broken pieces of the vase.
"I'm sorry. I'll compensate for it."
"Oh that you'll have to. Ho kaun tum? And why are you here?"
Vaani looked at him. His statement made her shiver involuntarily.
"Vaani Aggarwal. I am here to meet Sahay sir."
Prateek groaned as he realised she was the one he had to mentor for a whole year.
Suddenly his annoyance turned into a smirk. Oh he take revenge for his precious vase.
"Oh! So you are Vaani Aggarwal. So Vaani! I am Prateek. Prateek Sahay. Your mentor."
He said putting his hand in his pocket and walking closer to her making her walk backwards. Now she was actually nervous.
This hottie was going to be her mentor.
"I-I-"
She tried to say something but before she could he interrupted.
"Let's go! We have a lot to do Vaani."
He stressed on her name purposely trying to annoy her. And he did.
"Sure Prateek let's go!"
She too stressed on his name and he smirked at her annoyance. He walked ahead still smirking and she stomped her foot angrily.
She apologized right? And moreover she was ready to compensate. But he was showing her attitude and indirectly threatening her.
She would also show him that she wasn't less. Running behind him to catch up with him she stumbled twice but gained her balance.
"Ek din iss hisaab se per tutega tera Vaani."
She muttered to her own self. Prateek sat in his car and waited for her.
"I have my car."
"Take that home in the evening. Abhi sit inside."
He ordered her much to her annoyance but she complied nonetheless. All during the ride she was glaring at him while he was smirking.
They reached the office and he walked with quick, long steps and she ran behind him stumbling and tripping to keep up with him.
They entered the lift and she cursed him for having such long legs and cursed herself for wearing heels.
He entered his cabin and she followed behind like a lost puppy.
He sat on the chair and started typing on his desktop while she waited for him to give her some work.
She stood there awkwardly waiting for him to realise he wasn't alone. The slight smirk on his face told her that he knew.
She cleared her throat and he looked at her in mock realisation.
"Oh right! I completely forgot you were here."
She nodded with too sweet smile. She was irritated and he was enjoying it.
He passed her a file that was kept on his table. It wasn't a big file. Probably about 30-40 pages.
"I want to make 100 copies of this and arrange them in separate files. Files tumhe storage room se mil jaayengi and I want you to keep all the copies in the archives room safely."
He said and she looked at him wide eyed.
"100 copies!? What the hell are you going to do with 100 copies? Tum ye mujhe annoy krne ke liye kr rhe ho na? What does my mentorship has to do with making copies?"
She whisper yelled utterly annoyed with his behaviour.
His expressions changed to seriousness and he said.
"Whatever I ask you to do is not waste. Everything is for a purpose. And you don't get to question me. Haan wo purpose kya hai wo I can't guarantee."
He said the last statement making her glare at him. Nonetheless she took the file still glaring at him in anger and stormed off.
When she got in the lift she realised that in anger she didn't ask him where the copy machine, the storage room and the archive room were.
She groaned and cursed him for the umpteenth time. Getting one floor down she asked one of the employees working and she was kind enough to help her.
She first made 100 copies of each of the 37 pages.
It took her three hours just to copy each page. She put the 3700 pages on a trolley for ease of carrying it.
She looked at the time and realised that it was lunch time already.
She left the papers in the storage room after informing the attendant that she would be back soon.
She went to the office cafeteria and had her lunch.
After lunch she resumed her work and made 100 files. This task was much tiring than copying.
It took her a good 5 hours and when she was done it was already 7.
Quickly loading the files on the trolley she rushed to the archive room. Placing the files on the shelf in half an hour she rushed to his cabin.
"Wow! I assumed you will take atleast an hour more. Good job!"
He said smirking and she gave him a scowl.
"I hate you!"
"Feelings are mutual babe!"
He said winking. Ignoring the way her heart skipped a beat at the smooth wink she took her stuff and moved out with him following her trail.
They drove to his home where her car was parked.
"I expect you by 9 am tomorrow."
He said as she was getting out of the car. Not having the energy to say anything sassy she just nodded.
Prateek waited until she sat in her car and drove away. He then parked his car in the garage and walked in his home.
The place where his vase was kept now stood empty making him sigh angrily. That's why he didn't like clumsy people. Breaking things around them.
