Soon enough, it's nearly time for the rest of the students to arrive so I make my way to the platform and wait rather impatiently for the train to arrive. Once it does however I am immediately pulled into a bone crushing embrace by the one and only Aimie Marlow.
"Kass I've missed you" she near screams and I form a muffled reply due to the pressure she's formed around my neck. I've missed her dearly, she's my best friend, has been since our own sorting ceremony. As Slytherins go she is by far one of the most caring I've yet to meet. Still sporting her short brown hair as usual, though like me her body has changed for one more suitable for womanhood.
Our reunion is cut short however when Lorenzo comes rushing over, practically knocking me off my feet by picking me up and twirling me around.
"Lorenzo Berkshire, put me down!" I laugh and eventually when he does I am able to take a good look at him. He must have grown like a foot over the summer as he now towers over me. His brown curly hair still the same as the last time I saw him, but oh my those eyes. The way they lit up upon seeing me. Those beautiful brown eyes that I have simply got lost in. I soon realise that I am staring and quickly look away to ease the sudden tension I feel just in time for Draco to walk over and smile at me.
"What? Not excited to see me?" I chuckle. We do not share the same level as intimacy as I do with Aimie and Enz, but thats just Draco for you, not big on hugs.
"What's there to be excited about exactly" the blonde smirks. I am pleased that he decided to ditch the slick back, curtains seem much more cute on him.
We make our way to the great Hall, chatting happily together about our summers. Mine are usually painfully dull but I enjoy hearing about the others at least. We are interrupted when the sorting starts and dumbledore begins his long recycled speech from every year. But this year, informs us that we will be playing host to the Dementors of Azkaban. I did read about the escape of the infamous Sirius Black but when I approached my father with it he almost lost it, and forbid me from bringing it up again. I wonder what makes it such a touchy subject for him. The feast starts and its Aimie who starts the discussion.
"Why on Earth would Sirius Black come back to Hogwarts?" She starts.
"Yeah right, I mean after what like 12 years being locked up, he breaks out and the first thing he does is come to Hogwarts? It is odd. I could think of better ways to enjoy my new found freedom." I add.
"Don't you worry your pretty little head about it Kass, if anything comes of it. I'll gladly protect you." Enzo says as he sends me a wink, I feel myself starting to blush at the remark just as Aimie reaches over andbplayfully smacks Enzo over the head.
"Hey, and what about me!" She exclaims sending us all into a fit of laughter which continues throughout the feast. I watch as my friends insult and laugh at eachother. Yet I don't miss the many glances I am given by Enzo, each time sending my heart racing and a blush creeping up on my face. I wonder why something about us feels different this year, why I feel some sort of shift between us...
