I head straight to the common room, and find Aimie pacing the around the place."It's okay Aimie, we didn't kill eachother see?" I open my arms to show her I am very much unharmed while I let out a chuckle. There's barely anyone still in the common room, probably spending the day outside or in Hogsmead.
After a while she relaxes a bit and tells me the funniest story about how Moody transfigured Malfoy into a white Ferret after a slight altercation with Harry. I honestly don't think I've laughed like this in a long time, having to physically hold myself together in case I actually implode with laughter.
"Seems like the poor boy is having one hell of a bad day." I laugh as I wipe tears out of my eyes.
"Kass, what is going on with you and Lorenzo?" She asks after a while, turning the conversation serious.
"I'm not sure, he told me he loves me earlier" I shrug, her jaw drops but I quickly interject before she gets too excited about the news. "But says that I deserve more and he cannot be with me." I sigh.
"I don't understand- if he loves you?"
"I know." is all I can say in response. I feel defeated, with no idea how to get myself out when I'm in so deep.
"You can't wait around forever just for him you know." She states simply.
"Aim's, look at me. Who else would want me? A 16 year old with hideous scars and a 4 month old baby. I come with too much baggage." I state honestly. Its how I truly feel, its enough to scare any man off. "And even if there's someone else, I cannot see anyone but him. I can't just turn it all off." I tell her.
"You really are blind aren't you kass? Those scars, they do not define you. You could easily use a concealment charm on them, but you choose not to. Wear them as a badge of honor. Let them remind you of your strength and beauty. Anyone would be luckily to have you. We all are." I am so moved by her words, the purity of them.
"I couldn't agree more." The recognisable voice of Draco Malfoy beckons, as he plops himself onto the sofa.
"Bad day huh?" I ask him, desperately trying to hide my forming smile.
"Honestly, don't even go there." He holds up a hand but it only sends me and Aimie into fits of laughter, and for once I feel like there's nothing in this world that could break such a moment.
The trip to Hogsmead the following day was amazing. Filled with laughter over some Butterbeers, just a group of friends sending eachother insults and laughing at eachother. I watch from a far with Arabelle in my arms as I admire the settings around me. This is what I'm fighting for, my friends, my family. I love them all so dearly, I cannot let them down. As my father said, I simply cannot afford to.
The others go on back to the castle, giving Lorenzo, Arabelle and I a moment to ourselves.
"I got you something" He says as we too make ourway back to the castle. I only raise an eyebrow questionly, as he pulls out two black boxes out of his pockets. He hands me the larger of the two and I open it to find a simple yet elegent gold bracelet, I take it out and examine it closely. There's an engraving which reads: KS, LB & AB: Always. Our initials. I am immediately touched by the gesture and look up to him with tears evident in my eyes.
"Thank you." I let out and he opens the smaller box where a near identical yet considerably smaller bracelet is held.
"For Arabelle." He explains as he puts the bracelet around the wrist of his sleeping daughter. "We'll always be together, no matter what happens next... Always" He confidently states.
"I Love you" I blurt out, before even I have a chance to register what I have said.
"I know." Is all he says, not looking at me and we continue our walk as if nothing ever happened. A common theme in this relationship it seems.
