CHAPTER 24

"Another middle blocker wearing jersey number 11, their team captain, Andy Cruz!"

Woah!

I missed hearing those; it's been a long time, huh? I jumped, reached for my teammates hands, and looked at the crowd. They are huge. I utterly missed these people and this feeling.

"Good luck, everybody." Sumigaw ako para marinig nila. Masyadong malakas ang cheer kaya I'm not that sure if maririnig nila ang mga sasabihin ko.

The referee started whistle.

Woah! I'm nervous.

Angelo is the one who serves but it is out. Not a good start but i reminded them to shake those pressure during the huddle.

The opposing team served and Gray received it too good para walang hirap humabol ang setter namin, saktong sakto sa pwesto niya ang first ball kaya I'm waiting for his signal.

Though it's felt weird dahil hindi si Ryster ang setter ko. Pinili kasi niyang stayed with the team to use his last playing year alongside with Jay and Charles.

"Andy." Tawag ng setter ko then gain a point

"Andy Cruz!"

My first point here in the professional league.

Sequence continue. Medyo shaky ako right now, however the team trusted me.

"Andy."

"Andy, sa'yo."

"Middle."

'Yan ang mga narinig ko hanggang sa ako na ang mag se-serve. The crowd that I missed is cheering me. Good to hear.

Wala pang pinto ang referee, I used this moment to calculate where my serve will landed. Masyado silang nakahiwalay at wala akong mahanap na butas.

"Long serve." I heard coach suggestions.

Humarap kaunti yung libero nila kaya when the referee whistle, I immediately tossed the ball then have a long serve... Then it's an ace.

After celebration, natawa ako nang error na ang sumunod; tumama sa net. Long serve now it's too short.

"Mine."

Pumuwesto ako sa kung saan hindi ako magiging sagabal sa pahabol ng setter sa receive.

"Angelo," Kuya Ken sent it into left pin but Angelo blocked.

Gray was there, nagkatinginan pa kami ni Kuya Ken at biglang sa akin sinet. I was surprised, to be honest. Mababa ang talon ko pero I used my blockers fingers to gain another attack point.

"Kuya Ken, can I request that set it more high?" paki-usap ko, medyo mababa kasi yung set, muntik akong malulunod.

"Yeah." tinapik niya ang likuran ko at tinuro ang rotation.

I spread my arms, and think focus. I miss, babe. I wish he is here.

"Andy, focus!"

Yes! I forgot, the game still going, sorry.

In first set, my blocking is not working. I still got a points, but the blocking is poor. Nag a-adjust pa naman ako, kaya mababawi ko.
