Chapter 22 - Taken by force

Killer's POV

I immediately summoned a large gaster blaster next to him and it locked its jaws. The man was screaming in pain and throwing curses everywhere, and I was breathing heavily. He managed to shoot at the direction I thought Rue was at and I froze. I made the gaster blaster bite even harder, even though lots of blood would fall on the floor.

I could hear ringing in my ears, I turn to Rue's direction and I see him crying, covering his ears. There was a bullet hole on the wall above him and I sighed out of relief.

I didn't even think about what I did...

I thought I lost him..

Color finally arrived and I shouted at him to call the cops. I ran to Rue and hugged him, "Are you okay honey??!! What did they do to you???!!" I frantically ask. I was fucking scared and startled by the whole situation.

He opens his eyes and looks at me in shock, he hesitates before hugging me. I could hear him sniffle and sob which broke my heart. I pat his back and comfort him.

"T-they came out of nowhere mom!! *crying noises* a-and a-and, they pulled my a-arm!" He says while crying. I shush him and Color runs to us and says "Police are on the way.". I carry Rue and told Color to take him out of the room, he looked at the guy before looking at me. "Okay, if you say so..." Color said and I give Rue to him. Rue hugged him tightly and they left the room.

I look at the guy who was still being bit by my gaster blaster. I grab both of his guns and shoved one of it in his mouth. My finger was on the trigger and I let my gaster blaster unlock their jaws. I glared at him, I had a feeling that they weren't the only ones here...

"You better listen to what I say, the cops are coming and I'm not letting you go until they arrive." I said, being intimidating as I could. "Are you the only ones here?" I asked, shoving the gun even more. He was choking but he managed to shake his head. My eyes widened, there were others...

He started shedding tears and I pulled out the gun from his mouth and pointed it at his forehead. "Where?!" I shouted, demanding for an answer. "T-they should be in the living room.." He cries out and I summoned a blue bone which peirced his chest. He wasn't moving but mostly shocked on why he wasn't dead yet. "Don't you move or you'll die." I said and ran outside, I heard some gunshots followed by gaster blasters which made me scared.

I ran and by the time I reached the living room, Color was panting while holding Rue. There were 2 people on the ground with blue bones sticking out of them. The living room was a mess but that was the least concerning thing right now.

"Are you guys okay?!" I asked worriedly while confiscating the weapons that the intruders had.

"N-nightmare shall pay for his sins..." One of the guys on the floor said. I ignored them and went to hug Color and Rue. I almost broke down in tears and we could hear the sounds of police sirens. Rue passed out from crying and Color placed him on the couch.

The door bursts open and two cops step out and aimed their guns towards us. "Officer! Arrests these crooks, we had to defend ourselves cuz' they tried to murder us." Color said quickly, the officers put their guns down and walked in.

They looked at the intruders on the floor and the intruders laugh hysterically. "YOU MAY GET AWAY NIGHTMARE'S LOVE AFFAIR BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE!!! NIGHTMARE WILL PAY, HE WILL PAY!! HE WILL SUFFER THE SAME AS WE DID!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!" One of them said, their crazed and unhinged expression made me cringe and the officers sighed.

They look at us and asked for details for the crime. A few more officers came and collected the crooks while we relayed all the details we knew. That's where we knew that there was an underground organization that was hellbent on killing Nightmare and making him suffer, they called themselves "Darkness strikers" or something. Color was stunned to hear about that and I was a bit awkward about it...

I kinda was expecting something like this...I guess working with him made me a mentally prepared for this type of shit.

They asked me if I had any connections with Nightmare and I said "Well I used to work for him...but I ran away..", I was lying a bit, in case the officer didn't like my answer. He took a look at Rue and looked at me suspiciously. "That kid seems to resemble your...ex. boss.", I mentally slapped myself and I gathered up my acting skills.

I broke down in tears and hugged Color, I knew Color was a bit surprised but I kept going with my Charade. "I-i don't really wanna talk about it officer...I ran away because he r*ped me and I didn't want to kill anymore.." I said as crocodile tears started falling. I look up to Color and secretly winked, signaling him to play along.

He comforts me and the officer apologizes and soon leaves.

After they left, both of us sighed out of relief. "Why did you lie to the police?" Color asks in concern, i sighed and confessed. "Well, he was a bit suspicious and I don't need him coming back for reasons other than to report." I said, he looks at me with confusion and asked "Why would an officer do that?".

"I don't know, it's just an instinct..." I said. He sighs and said "We'll technically, there's really nothing wrong with what you said.. they probably looked at Rue..".

I smiled weakly and got up, "Where are you going?" Color asks. "Just going to get some water.." I said and walked to the kitchen. When I entered the kitchen, I saw that the window was broken. Before I could react someone covered a funny-smelling cloth on my nose and mouth. I felt a bit dizzy but tried my best to escape their grasps.

I WASN'T GONNA FALL FOR THIS TRICK AGAIN.

I summon my knife and slashed the one who was behind me and they dropped the cloth. I still felt a bit whoozy but nonetheless, I still had some decent movement before I could say anything, I felt something smack my head and I fell onto the ground.

The last thing I heard was glass shattering.
