Chapter 12

LUNA'S POV

I jump up and run over to where James is sleeping. I poke him but all he does his grunt and roll over. 

"Hey! Wake up! Wake up now!", I shout in his face. I laugh as he jumps and scrambles to his feet. He looks around wildly. 

"What! What's happening! Is it the hunters?", He asks quickly. I shake my head at him and his relief is plain on his face. "Oh, then what's happening?", He asks looking confused. 

"We'll something happened, I don't know what though....", I then tell him about my messed up.... Dream, and his eyes grow wider and wider with shock. When I finish he sits down on the log behind him and mutters something under his breath that sounds like "blimey". 

He looks up at me and says, "wow, I think you have two abilities!" 

"Yeah I know I do!", I say to him. Duh. What does this have to do with this dream thing. 

"We'll then why are you asking me about this if you already know?" He asks me, looking at me like I'm crazy. 

I start to feel frustrated. "What does this," I snap my fingers and a flame pops up, "have to do with this...... Dream?" 

He looks at me incredibly, "why didn't you tell me you could do that! Oh my god.... Does that mean? No... No that can't be true..... But if you already have two powers? Oh this is so confusing!" 

"What are you talking about!", I ask him. 

"If you have two powers already...... Then maybe just maybe....... Ok I have two possibilities and both of them involve the same thing. You just saw the future." 

I look at him and feel my mouth hanging wide open. I quickly shut it and start to ask "what-". But he cuts me off. 

"The first one is that you just had one glimpse into the future and it was just a premonition. The second possibility I can think of is, well..... That you have gained a third power and can see into the future!", he smiles a huge smile at me. But I don't feel happy, I feel different, like some kind of freak who has not two, but three, powers! James notices and stops smiling and looks at me concerned. "What is it?"  

"Well, I just feel...... Like a freak, if that's true, I mean. So I'm kind of hoping it is just a premonition.... But I still feel like a freak even if it is just a vision! I mean, no one else is getting these! Ugh.....", I turn around and sit on the ground. I feel tears welling up in my eyes but hold them in. I am not going to be a freak and a wimp. 

I feel James walk over and sit down by me. As he sits down he slides his arm around my shoulders. I think about pulling away but realize..... I like it. It makes me calm down. I release my breath, just realizing I was holding it, and feel my tension melts away. 

"Thank you", I tell him, the relief plain in my voice. 

"No problem", he responds. He looks down at me, for he is a little bit taller, and smiles. He squeezes my shoulders just a bit then stands up. I feel cold in the places his body was touching mine, the chills a reminder of who was just there...... Ok weird.  

Then a question popped into my head. "Wait a minute.... Is that... Vision, a vision of my future, someone else's future, or something that is happening right now?" 

That stumps him. He turns and looks at me deep in thought. "I'm not sure. I don't think it's happening right now but still.... I guess we won't know until something happens", and with that he turns around and starts to walk towards the woods we are camping by. 

"Where ya going!?", I shout out to him. 

"Hunting!", He shouts back, "be back soon!" 

As soon as he is out of sight, I feel truly alone. Since I am all alone I decide to go wash the sweat from my limbs. The idea pleases me so I walk to the pond next to our camp and slip off my clothes. I feel the cold air hit my body and shiver. Then I slide into the pond and feel my hair floating around me. I swim to the middle of it where I cannot touch and dive down to the bottom. I try to imagine myself living there. Just drifting peacefully my whole life. I like that idea... Until I need air, that is. I kick myself back to the surface and take a large gulp of air. It feels amazing. I keep swimming around the pond until I see a tiny speck by the woods and know James is on his way back. I quickly jump out of the pond, dry off, and get dressed. By time he gets back I am already totally dry from sitting in front of the fire.  

He has caught two rabbits. We quickly cook them up and eat them. Then we lay down and go to sleep. I think to myself as I start to fall asleep that I hope that I don't have another premonition tonight....... Because if I do, then I would be totally screwed.
