Chapter 16

I.Y.'S POV

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ugh! The stupid idiot! Couldn't even take on a child! It's his fault that they got away. I don't know if I should bring him along or not. I suppose I better because if we run into them again before they get where they are going I might need his help. I bend down and lift him firefighter style onto my shoulder.
He's heavier than he looks. I have no clue how we are going to keep up with them now. The only way we did before is by rarely making camp. Once every 2 1/2 days. So we gained steadily on them for by my reckonings, they stopped twice a day to eat, sleep, etc.
It isn't for another hour until he wakes up. When I hear him stirring I basically drop him to the ground.
"Ow!", says first grabbing the back of his head, then he grabs his face and says it louder. That must be where he was hit to be knocked out cold. I smirk at him laying there on the ground. He looks up at me then says, "what'd ya do that for?"
"I did that because you were beaten up by a teenage boy!" I say glaring down at him, "it's your fault that they got away! Well? What do you have to say for yourself?"
He looks down at the ground and mumbles, "sorry." Wow what a little kid. Sorry? How is that going to help us? How is that going to help him make up for his mistake, no giant blunder! Well, to answer that, it is not going to help.
"That doesn't help us right now", I tell him, "only actions will." He looks up and nods his head very fast. His eyes are wide and pleading. Ugh, this man disgusts me. I have half a mind to kick him in the face and leave him here. I resist that pleasing temptation.
"Let's get going", I tell him, "we won't be able to catch up with them again but at least we can follow them to where they are going." He jumps to his feet, looking eager to get going, but then his face changes to confusion.
"Um, question, how are we going to follow them now? They are sure to be a covering their tracks now!", he asks, looking disappointed. I smile, and decide to tell him because I want to see the look on his face.
"Well you won't have to worry about that because I am an Evo and my ability is to track."
I feel pleased when his jaw basically drops to the floor. He looks scared, but not scared enough to leave. I faintly hear him mumble, "ok then.... Um... Lets get going then." He turns and starts to walk in a random direction. I clear my throat.
"They went this way", I say pointing behind me. I shake my head and start walking that direction, him trailing behind me. I can't help but think about how many more questions he will start asking and how annoying this is going to be.
