Chapter 22

LUNA'S POV

It's about 9:00 am when I hear a knock on my door. I have been up for thirty minutes. I tell them to come in.  

It's Spencer. He leans against the doorway and smiles at me. 

"May I come in?" 

"I think that's the point of saying come in" 

"You are just full of comebacks aren't you?", he says stepping inside. He walks over to my closet and pulls out the dress 

"Number 1", he says. The dress changes to the first one I saved. He goes through the other two. On the last one he holds it up to me. 

"I like this one, it's hot. You should wear it. You are gonna meet some new people today", he says shoving the dress into my hands. I look at it and think about wearing the gold and white one instead but....... Oh why not I mean, oh my I think I will, well he does want me to so why not?  

I turn and walk into the closet and quickly change into my new dress. It fits nice and snug and makes me look sexy. I look at myself in the mirror when I walk out of the closet. Just as amazing as last night. I hear a wolf whistle behind me and turn around. 

Spencer is standing there leaning on one leg with his arms crossed, staring at my ass. When I turn around his gaze goes north, but not to my eyes. I cross my hands in front of my chest, causing his eyes to snap up to mine. He smiles bigger and raises his eyebrows at me. 

"Damn you look hot babe", he says running his eyes up and down my body. 

"I, am, not, your, babe!" I glare at him, yet after I say it I feel butterflies in my stomach. What is wrong with me? "So you say I am going to meet some new people? Ummm how?" 

"We are going to go out and socialize, duh! We are going to the cafeteria, that's where everyone who is anyone hangs out..... And by that I mean people under 25", he turns and walks out the door. He stops and looks back at me. "Let's go!", he says. 

I smile and walk out the door. He hooks his arm around mine and we walk to the cafe.

It literally takes 10 minutes to get there. This place is huge! I'm going to need a map to get around for the first year! Once we walk in I notice all the teenagers sitting around the tables. There were little groups everywhere. I see spencer gazing over at a bunch of guys laughing in the corner. 

"Go ahead, I'll be fine", I tell him. 

"Don't cause any trouble or I'm allowed to punish you", he smiles evilly down at me. 

I look up at him and bat my eyes, then say, "how could this face cause trouble." 

"I'm kind of hoping for it", he winks, I just roll my eyes and walk away. Ugh he can be soooo annoying! 

I walk awkwardly for only about ten seconds before I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and see a girl with straight light brown hair and big light blue eyes. 

"Your new here aren't you?", she says looking straight at me. 

"Um, yes, is it that obvious?", I ask, feeling my face blush. 

"No, I can read minds..... My names Austin, yours?" 

"Luna" 

"Come with me, I'll introduce you to some people", she grabs my hand and starts to pull me to a table full, and I mean full, of girls. 

"Hey guys!", she shouts to them, "this is Luna! She is new here so I think she should sit with us! Can we keep her?" 

They all turn and look at me. There are four girls, five if you include Austin, and this is a four person table. There is one girl with black hair, hazel eyes, and tan skin. She is really short. Then there is a shorter girl with flame red hair and green eyes with orange inside. Sitting next to her is a very tall girl with blonde curly hair and purple tips. Finally, the last girl is also red haired. She has blue eyes and is taller than the first red head.  

"That's Cassie", she points to the short red head. "Natalie", the tall blonde. "Jocelyn", short and black hair. "And Lizzy", she says pointing to the last red head, the taller one. 

"Uhm, hi?", I say awkwardly lifting my hand. I put it back down and glance at my feet, feeling embarrassed. I look back up to see them all smiling at me. 

"Here come sit down. Your standing in my soon to be spot!", Cassie says pulling up another chair. 

"Soon to be spot?", I ask. 

"Here, I'll just show you!", she says jumping up and running to where I am standing. She just plops down right on the floor. 

"Cassie get off the floor!", the other four girls shout at the same exact time. I giggle and the whole table breaks out laughing. 

"NO!", she shouts back. After that we all just start talking. I stay out of the conversation for a while, but gradually add in. I find out a lot about them. 

Lizzy has super strength, Cassie can fly, Natalie has an affinity with the earth, and Jocelyn can turn invisible. Also, I learned that not only can Austin read minds, she can move stuff with it and break into people's mind. The last part makes me shiver. 

We sit and talk about nothing in particular for 10 minutes full of giggles and laughs. But then I see Spencer sitting by the entrance watching me. He motions with his head. I look at the group and tell them I have to go. We make plans to hang out again tomorrow. I actually like them.  

I walk over to where Spencer is standing. As I get there he turns and starts heading back towards my room. 

"So I see you made some friends huh? I gotta admit, I'm gonna miss being the only person you know and talk to babe." 

"Well, just so you know, you are not the only person I talk to, even before them", I motion my head back, "I also talk to....... JAMES! Oh my goodness can we go see him? I haven't see him in two days! Oh can we please?"  

I thought I saw a flash of annoyance in his eyes.... But I must have imagined it because his expression was concerned. 

"I don't know where James's room is, but I will find out ASAP. Ok?" 

"Ok", I say back slightly disappointed.  

We walk back to my room in silence. When we get there I turn to Spencer to say goodbye, but I notice he has a different look in his eye. I stay silent. 

"Look, babe, I think we are right for each other. I mean, the signs are there. I know you like me Luna." 

"Spencer, I don't like you like that, nor do I want to. I just want-", I feel an overwhelming sensation flow over my body. I forget everything that was on my mind as Spencer steps closer. And closer. Until he is standing right above me looking down. I look back up into those eyes noticing the sensation has gone down. He brings up his hand and rubs his thumb over my cheek. He moves his hand back around my neck and wraps his other hand around my waist. He leaned forward. 

And kissed me. A long passionate kiss. I could do nothing about it for I was trapped by him, emotionally more than physically. His mouth moved in rhythm with mine, like it was meant to be.  

We break apart and I look up into those grey eyes. He pulls me into a hug and his hand try's to go lower. I push away and look up to him and the full weight of my guilt crashes down on me. I can't look at him any longer. I turn and run right into my room and lock the door. I hear him try to open the door and I hear him knocking and saying something but I can't understand him. 

I walk to my bed and sit down. I feel two emotions, queasiness and excitement. I hated it but part of me enjoyed it too..... Oh my god, did anyone see? What am I going to do tomorrow when I have to see him? What did I just do?
