"I can't believe you did that..." Shoko chides me as I rest my head in my hands, covering my eyes from her judging gaze. We're sitting in the Jujutsu Tech cafe and I have a steaming hot chai latte sitting in front of me as I confess my wrongdoings to Shoko. She'd been tracking my location that night, so knew something was off when I went to Satoru's house and is now questioning me vigilantly about it today.

"I can't believe it either... and I didn't even escape in the morning without him seeing me which makes it all the more embarrassing."

"Maybe its for the best that you two talked after. I mean, you wanted closure right?" Shoko replies, attempting to be the voice of reason.

"Closure? What closure! I feel as in the dark than ever." I finally lift my head from my hands and meet her gaze, it's not so much disdainful anymore as it is pitying, and I'm not sure which I prefer. "Don't do that, don't pity me. You know I hate it when you do that." I warn her, looking off to my side in a huff and crossing my arms.

"How can I not? Your situation isn't great... it seems as if he's constantly giving you mixed signals. One day he's with blondie and the next moment he's saying he wants you to visit him sober? I mean what does that even mean? What stupid phrasing."

"Tell me something I don't know." I reply shortly. I look back at Shoko and she has one eyebrow raised at me, questioning the tone of my response. "Okay sorry you're right. Thank you for trying to help, I should be more grateful."

"Yes you should." She replies and I half-scoff half-laugh back at her. "Speaking of blondie, I may or may not have done some background research..."

That's Shoko for you, she's nothing if not reliable and extremely invested in other people's business.

"Is any of it interesting?" I ask, knowing full well that any information about this woman is interesting to me, I just can't let Shoko see that.

"Oh, honey, all of it is interesting." She says making a circle in the air in front of her with her pointer finger. I shift forward slightly in my chair now that I can openly express my interest in the woman without seeming Satoru-obsessed, and Shoko pulls out a brown, detective-like file from her bag. As I said, she gets extremely invested into other people's business. As she slaps it down on the table making a satisfying sound and I look around to see if there's anyone who might be listening to our conversation, but there's only a couple of other staff members sitting far across the other side of the cafe.

Shoko begins her presentation and opens up the file. The first thing inside it is a photo of the woman, it's more like a professional headshot actually.

"She models?" I ask Shoko, picking up the photo with curiosity only for her to take it swiftly back out of my hand.

"I'll get to that in a second." She replies, flipping through the other pages of the file. Once she finally reaches what she was looking for, she begins reading: "Hana Kamo, age 26." She places a different photo in front of me this time and I pick this one up. It's a family photo and I recognise some of the elders in the Kamo clan. I also recognise Kamo Noritoshi who graduated from Jujutsu Tech Kyoto a few years back and Hana is next to him.

"She was homeschooled with most of the Kamo clan, however left before pursuing any further education at an institute such as Jujutsu Tech to pursue an acting and modelling career instead." At this point Shoko hands me the headshot I had been robbed of earlier. "She has been signed in Tokyo, Milan, and Paris. She's also had two sub-par acting appearances in a few western TV shows, but nothing spectacular."

"Not following in the family footsteps then, what with the blood manipulation not being her main focus." I reply, studying the headshot. It's obviously a couple of years old, but she still looks mostly the same.
