Shoko and I finish off what's left of the sweets between us before we begin to talk.

"I don't think you should come into work today." She begins, eyeing me nervously as if I might break if she looks at me the wrong way. I understand her concern considering I'm still wearing the clothes she gave me at the infirmary yesterday and haven't even had the chance to shower.

"I don't think there was any chance of me coming in today."

She nods her head in a knowing way before silence falls upon the table. I watch her look towards the glass expanse of windows in the apartment as she gets up from her seat and begins to walk towards them. I watch her momentarily before following myself. We both look out over early morning Tokyo and I'm reminded of the morning I spent at Satoru's after I had showed up drunk the evening before.

I can practically feel his hand on my back like it was that day and have to stop myself from turning around to check he's not there. Shoko already thinks I've gone insane, I don't need to give her any other reasons to confirm I've gone off the rails like checking behind me constantly in a paranoid manner.

"It's such a nice view." She comments, crossing her arms.

"I know." I stuff my hands in my back pockets before moving away from the window and sitting down on the couch opposite.

"I think I should get going." Shoko says as she checks her watch. "If you need anything, just call me. I've cleared my schedule of anything major for the next few days, so I'm all yours for whatever you need." She says thoughtfully, patting my shoulder as she walks past me to collect her things.

"Thanks." I respond and I hear the front door close as she leaves. I turn around slowly, craning my neck round over the back of the sofa, and once I see that she's well and truly gone, I spring up from the couch. Sprinting towards Satoru's bedroom, I burst through the door, tripping over my bag I'd left on the floor in there before Shoko arrived.

I regain my balance and pick up the letter from the ground, placing it back on the bed where I found it. I sit down next to it, almost trying to form some kind of telepathic connection to Satoru through this one item to figure out where he is. Obviously, it does not work. I may be able to stop time, but there are some limits to what I can do. I remember what I picked up from when I was leaving Jujutsu tech with Shoko and pull his blindfold out of my pocket.

I stare down at it and notice it's a bit dusty from being on the floor. I brush off some of the dirt and shut my eyes, squeezing the material tightly within my hands, trying to get closer to him to figure out where on earth he could have got to. Needless to say, it doesn't work. I laugh at myself hysterically for even thinking I this tactic would help me figure out where he is and I lean back onto the bed in despair, laying the blindfold down next to me.

I stay like this for a few minutes before deciding I should get ready, whether I'm going to work or not. I go back to my room and shower, changing into some fresh clothes and removing the bandages Shoko put on me yesterday. Whilst I'm getting dressed my mind wanders in thought about where Satoru could have got to and how I can track him down. I realise that I haven't even tried the simple action of calling him.

I pick up my phone that's laying on the bed and dial his number. The line rings a couple times before the dreaded message plays through. 'The number you have called has been terminated or is no longer in use...' I ring off before the smug automated voice can say anything else as my worst suspicions are confirmed. He's attempting to completely cut himself off from me.

I think about what he could have left behind that might lead me to him, any kind of device would do. If I could access his cloud on any connected device then I could see his shared browser history and check if he searched for properties or something connecting him to his new location. I go back to his room and search each draw methodically, but there's nothing to be found. He's been extremely thorough in leaving no trace of where he's gone.
