Pairing: Joel Miller x Reader
Warning: Smut.

Joel always had a strong and intimidating presence, but there was always something different in the way he looked at me. Some sort of domestic ambience unfolded in his gaze. I never truly understood what it was, and I've been receiving this look for the past week. The color of his iris deepened as his eyes remained fixed on me. In some ways, I felt a sense of insecurity. Maybe he judged and unraveled the mystery of my form. However, there was something majestic about his stare lingered on my being. Something so hot and tense-infatuation. Joel Miller wasn't the type to wear his feelings on his sleeves. However, he couldn't hide them in his mud colored eyes that turned velvety black when he watched me too long.
He was relaxed on my father's sofa. His tight fitted flannel hugged his arms. His arms were folded behind his head, acting as a pillow. Joel had his eyes closed and his chin lifted upward as he reclined. His feet were propped up on the table placed in front of the sofa. My parents were out shopping for some things they'd forgotten on their last trip to town. Luckily, my house was far from city limits. Trees surrounded us, casting shade over our entire house. Even during the day, it always seemed like we were submerged in midnight. I let myself believe that's why Joel loved it here so much. He never had to face the sun and the new trauma it would bring.
My eyes were locked on him. Despite the heat being on, a chill bites my flesh as I walk closer to him. To my surprise, I didn't have to make my presence known. Joel's ability to sense anyone and anything was robust.
"What are you doing, Y/n?" He asked. His voice was deep and gravelly. My heart hammered in my chest. I stepped over his legs and placed myself beside him. The smell of woods and burning trees should be natural to me, but coming from him it was so different. So... arousing. "You should be upstairs."
"Why would I need to be upstairs?" My voice was low. "I thought you liked me?"
A knowing chuckle rumbles in his chest. His mouth curled in the corner. Joel doesn't open his eyes but he is stiff. The black hair on his arms stands straight.
"Maybe that's why you should be upstairs."
I leaned back against the sofa. My sundress lightly rode up my thighs as I folded one leg over the other. My attention is still drawn to Joel Miller. "What's that supposed to be?" I say, placing my hand on Joel's thigh. He jerks before relaxing under my touch. "Don't you like me, Joel?"
A dark, dominating growl escapes Joel's lips.
"Get upstairs, Y/n." He demands.
Not knowing what came over me, I laughed. Not the most hearty laugh, but a seductive you-can't-tell-me-what-to-do laugh.
"Why do I need to go upstairs Joel?" I rub his leg. My touch is light but enough to get him to open his eyes and look at me. "Are you bothered by me?" I ask. I scoot closer to him.
As predicted, Joel's eyes darkened. The beautiful and mysterious shade of black. His eyes draw me in. Both of our breaths are shallow. There could be a million people in this house right now. However, the intensity of our attention to each other would drown out each individual.
Joel swallows hard. His usual plump lips are in a tight line. His stare is sharp. If he were anyone else I'd feel rejected. I'd feel embarrassed, but I know Joel. Joel unfolds his arms from behind his head. He throws one behind me and grabs my waist. In one swift motion, I'm on top of him-straddling him. His chest falls with a deep breath. His eyes trail my body as lust and mischief loom in his eyes.
"If you don't go upstairs, I'll do something we both regret. Understood?"
A smile presses on my lips. His hands flutter up my dress, and rest on my bare thighs. His fingers dig into my flesh as if he's trying to restrain himself.
