let her go // m. jaehyun

Jaehyun's POV
It's not a lie anymore when people say that "regret is stronger than gratitude" I finally get it now.

Things haven't been easy for both of us. After debuting, I found it difficult to spend my time with her and she's not okay with it. I know.

She wants me to spend more time with her but I didn't try to find one. I let my busy schedule to tear us apart until she finally leaves me.

Flashback
"Jae.. are you free this weekend?" The girl asked as she approached Jaehyun who's sitting on a chair in the studio.

"No, I'm busy. I need to prepare for my next comeback." Jaehyun's response hurts the girl by his harsh tone. He didn't even bother to spare her a glance.

"You said that too last month Jae."

Jaehyun sighed heavily, frustration rising in his face. "What am I supposed to do then? You're an idol too right? Can't you understand me?"

Her patience wears thin as she speaks, "Why are you the only one that is always busy? Sungho told me that everyone is on a break?"

"I'm busy with my own project Y/n!" He lashes out and success to make the girl flinching. Her eyes begin to water as Jaehyun turns his back to her.

"I'm just asking for you to spend some time with me Jaehyun..just five minutes...you don't need to raise your voice like that.."

"If you have nothing else to say, please leave Y/n. I don't need you to make me stress even more." Jaehyun gritted.

"So you're saying that I'm the problem here?" She scoffed.

"I had enough-" Jaehyun stopped his words after realising that the girl is crying slowly behind him.

"Hey-" Jaehyun tried to hold her but she was quicker.

"I'm done Jaehyun.." she said, leaving the studio followed by Jaehyun who's trying to chase her up.

"H-Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." Jaehyun pleaded, his hands trembling at the thought of losing her tonight.

"You didn't mean to? Okay... fine. But it'll never change the fact that you raised you voice on me Jaehyun!"

"It's my fault, I know... please."

"No... I'm done Jaehyun." She continues to shake her head, her words left no room for argument.

"Please don't leave. I'll make it up to you." Jaehyun begs but only to be ignored by her as she walks past him.

"Hey! Please." Jaehyun blocked the girl's way. She broke down in tears again and fall on her knees.

"I'm just asking you to spend some time with me Jaehyun...just 10 minutes."

"Okay.. let's go and have a talk okay? Please don't go." Jaehyun continues to assure the girl and tries to comfort her.

"I don't think I can do this anymore Jaehyun.. you changed. I understand that you're busy.. but when I was busy with my schedule and comebacks.. have I ever push you away like this? Never Jaehyun.. never. You're my priority and I love you. I loved you so much.. but why am I feeling like I'm the only one in love?"

Jaehyun couldn't bear his sadness any longer, he cries with the girl. He never noticed how he has changed and how his behaviour is hurting the love of his life.

"It's not true Y/n.. I love you. I always love you." He fell to the ground and burying his face in his hands.

They both cry together in the corridor until the girl starts to speak again, "this is not the first time we've got here Myungjae.. I.. I want us to stop hurting each other. I don't want to hate you. Please.. let me go."

Jaehyun stood up, his face snapped to look at the girl. "N-No, Y/n.. please. We can make it work. I'm sorry. I promise you I'll be a better person. I'll spend more time with you. Please, I'm begging you."

"Love is not always meant to stay Jaehyun...sometimes it means for us to let go."

"No..."

"If we were written to be together, one day.. we'll find ourselves together again okay?" She said softly, looking straight into his eyes.

Jaehyun begs for the girl in front of him to stay but it's all useless. He stood there, watching as she walked away from his life.

End of flashback

If only she's still here, I will let her know how much she meant to me. I'll make sure to bring her out for a date and I'll do everything to make sure she stays with me.

That day, I should've try harder, but what I did was...I let her go.
