Hey there! A little break in between the pride specials (The very, very sidetracked pride special)

Just some wholesome fluff of our favourite crackheads, Scar and Grian! Set in Season 9

Scar pulled the tray of cookies out of the oven, inspecting them. Unfortunately, he had a cold and couldn't smell anything... However, they looked fine, apart from a little misshapen! Ok, very misshapen. But he knew Grian was going to love it. 'Grian!' He called out, sliding a few cookies off the tray and onto a plate, placing it on the table outside the kitchen, and closing the door. Inside, everything was messy- But cleaning it would be a problem for future Scar. He had to admit, he didn't know how to make cookies. Or just make food in general.

Grian poked his head around the wall, peering into the room. 'Hey, Scar- Whats this?'

Scar couldn't stop a smile from spreading across his face. 'I made cookies! Try one, I haven't tasted one yet because I wanted you to have them.'

'Um...' Grian looked hesitant for a second. 'I mean, sure! Pass one.'

Scar did, and Grian looked at it for a second. It was... odd. Oddly shaped, oddly coloured. Then he bit into it, resisting the urge to spit it out. There was definitely way too much salt in this thing. And apart from that, no flavour except flour. Scar was a chaos gremlin, but terrible in the kitchen. And thats why I do the cooking. How do I break this to him?

'Is it good?' Scar asked, eyes sparkling.

'Uh- Yeah?' Grian took another bite. You got used to the taste, after a while.

'Oh, alright!' Scar took one, and nibbled on one side. His expression changed so quickly and comically that Grian couldn't resist laughing. 'Ack! Grian, this is terrible.'

'Of course, Scar. You suck at cooking...' Grian started, then stopped. Scar immediately looked so crestfallen that Grian felt bad for making fun of him. 'I'm sorry. Listen, I was trying to figure out how to tell you.'

Scar kicked the ground, then inspected his cookie. 'I, uh, kinda ruined the kitchen.'

'Thats not a problem, I'll take care of it. Hey, what about this? Come on. I'll teach you how to make a cookie. Properly.'

Scar brightened. 'Really?'

'Yeah.' Grian shouldered open the door, surprised by the mess inside. 'If you left any ingredients, we can do it now.'

'Sure! Definitely. Show me where I screwed up.'

'Alright.'

———

'So, your first mistake is that you accidentally put too much salt and flour.' Grian started. They had cleaned up the kitchen together and lined up the cookie ingredients on the counter. The recipe book Scar had been using was open, and Grian gestured to the method as he spoke. 'So, it says here... put 115 grams of melted butter, 250 grams sugar, and a teaspoon of salt and mix it together until it's a smooth paste.'

Scar poured the ingredients into a bowl and started to furiously whisk it. After a few minutes, it was a silky liquid that flowed through the whisk easily. Grian couldn't resist dipping his little finger into the mix and tasting it. 'Yum! It's sweet. Scar, try it.' He did, and his eyes widened in surprise. 'Thats amazing'

Grian grinned. 'Ok, next: One egg and a teaspoon of Vanilla extract. Mixed into the sweet stuff' Scar poured the vanilla in, then paused over the egg. 'If I put this, we wont be able to eat it, right?'

'I shouldn't endorse it, but I will pretend I didn't see anything.' Grian joked. Scar tried the mixture before he cracked the egg into it, mixing it until it was fluffy. 'How much I want to eat it...' He muttered wistfully.

'Alright, next!' Grian said before Scar could try it. '155 grams of flour and half a teaspoon baking soda.' Scar stirred in the flour with a spatula.

Grian watched him, then moved on to the next step. 'Ok, now 110 grams of chocolate chips.' Scar stole a few pieces before dumping the rest into the mix, and he passed one of his stolen chunks to Grian.

'It's dark chocolate.' Grian reminded Scar as he was about to eat one.

'Won't stop me. It's dark, like our souls.' Scar replied, popping three into his mouth. Grian laughed and ate his piece. 'Like my soul. You and I both know theres nothing but sunshine in you. Ok, now we bake it.'

Half an hour later, Grian pulled the tray out of the oven. The cookies were perfect- Chewy, melted chocolate, crispy on the outside and gooey inside. 'Hey, Scar?' Grian said as they ate.

'Yeah?'

'Promise me you won't try to cook again.'

Scar flicked his boyfriend's nose. 'No guarantees, bird boy.'
