Chapter 9'

I stood there awkwardly trying to process the information that Jonny had just told me. Poor Kelsey, in love with someone who really didn't want anything to do with her. Dan came down and joined us again. ''so what did I miss?'' he asked questioning us all. Jonny shot me a 'please don't' look. Great now I was keeping things from my boyfriend Thanks Jonny. ''Oh nothing really.'' I replied quickly to break the silence. Time started to pass and I quickly forgot what Jonny had told me. I was currently watching Josh and Dan playing FIFA, Dan was losing purposely as Josh had begged me to make Dan go easy so Josh could impress Abigail, that boy was all talk really. Me and Abi were just sat there laughing at how competitive the two got. ''so how long have you and Dan been together?'' she asked. ''not long actually about 2 days.'' I said even though it had felt like so much longer. Abi looked shocked. ''Wow, you seem so in love!'' I smiled thinking about how much I liked Dan, I was infact falling in love with him and it was way too soon but I wasn't bothered. ''Thanks, we've been close for while.'' I informed her and she just nodded. ''you and Josh are cute.'' I gave her a smile she laughed. ''well I've kind of liked him for ages, I was just waiting for him to ask me out to be honest.'' Bless them. ''that's sweet, I know Josh has liked you for ages too, he was just to wimp to say anything!'' ''bless him.'' we were both laughing at how pathetic he was sometimes. ''Ellie, can I have a word.'' It was Jonny, Josh looked up at us with a look of concern. I shook my head and pointed at the screen to say it was fine. ''Sure.'' I followed him as he lead me into an empty room. ''I'm sorry, I sprung that on you before but you're the first girl I've met that hasn't been head over heels in love with me, that's why I thought I could tell you.'' I was processing everything. ''I get it Jonny but you need to tell people! Kelsey is in love with you and Josh hates you.'' He looked up. ''Why does Josh hate me?'' I sighed. ''Abigail, your reputation.'' He sat down and put his head in his hands. ''Abi is the only other person that knows and I had to beg her not to tell anyone.'' I sat down next to him. ''Jonny, you'll be okay. I'm not going anywhere, no matter what happens.'' I smiled and he smiled back. ''You're right and I know that but I'm just not ready for people to know the truth.'' I hugged him. ''What the fuck are you doing?'' Kelsey had come into the room without either of us noticing. ''Get away from my boyfriend!'' she shouted. Suddenly there was a crowd of people gathering round. ''I'm not your boyfriend Kelsey!'' Jonny stepped in. Kelsey looked heart broken. ''Is it because of her?'' She looked at me like I was a piece of shit. ''There's nothing going on with me and Jonny.'' I stated coldly. ''Sure honey.'' She said stepping towards me. ''Kelsey back off.'' Dan stepped in. ''Or what Dan?'' I looked over at Jonny and he nodded at me. ''Kelsey, listen to me.'' Jonny said and everyone's attention was on him. ''I'm not your boyfriend and I never will be. I'm not into Ellie, there's nothing going on there she's with Dan.'' Kelsey looked confused. ''why then?'' ''Jonny tell her the truth.'' Abi said. Josh looked over at me confused and then back at Abi. ''What is going on here?'' Dan asked. ''Kelsey, you're a lovely girl and trust me I wish I could love you but I don't because, because I'm gay.'' Jonny said as tears were strolling down Kelsey's face and she ran out of the house. I hugged Dan. ''Thank you.'' I kissed his cheek. ''What for?'' he smiled looking confused. ''stepping in for me.'' ''anytime.'' he winked. The party started to die down after the big scene and everyone started leaving. This left Matt, Max, Josh, Abigail, Dan, Chris, Jonny and Me in Dan's house. ''Josh, walk me home?'' Abi asked. ''Sure beautiful.'' he winked at her. ''I'll see you guys on Monday.'' we all shouted bye as they left. ''I'm glad you made Josh talk to her Elle.'' Dan said as I leant into him. ''he deserves happiness.'' I said looking into his eyes. ''So Jonny you hid that well!'' Matt said laughing. ''Well, I didn't really know how to tell people, I was kind of scared of the reaction really.'' he bit his lip like he was scared of what he was saying. ''Dude, if people push you out you've got us.'' Dan smiled at him, he was so nice to everyone. ''Yeah always Jonny.'' I backed Dan up. ''Thanks guys it means a lot!'' I'm glad I settled in so well here, I loved it. ''do you have a boyfriend then?'' I asked being curious. Jonny shook his head. ''I like someone though, I just don't know how to tell him.'' Aww bless him. ''who?'' I looked at Jonny who looked to the ground. ''Eliott in the year below.'' I knew Eliott because through Max, he was a kid in the year below a bit of a misfit really but the guys let him hang round with them. ''That's sweet.'' Jonny nodded at me with a smile on his face I'm glad he was honest with me. Eventually everyone left leaving me and Dan all alone.
