Dan Flint story

Chapter 1'

This was it, new school, new me, well at least that's what I've been trying to tell myself for the past month. My name's Elizabeth, I'm 15 years old and my mum, dad, little brother and me just moved from Liverpool to Surrey. It wasn't something I was particularly happy about at first but the idea had started to grow on me. I was never one of those popular girls, I had 3 friends, Jess, Hannah and Matt and they were honestly the only thing I'm going to miss. I had blonde hair with a blue streak through my fringe and listened to alternative music. I looked at myself in the mirror, I hated the way I looked. I grabbed my eyeliner and started adding a thin line to each of my eyes. I straightened my tie and forced myself to smile. I stepped away from the mirror and grabbed my school bag, putting my head phones in and heading down stairs. I walked into the kitchen and my mum was sorting out breakfast for my little brother. She handed me a plate which had a slice of toast on it. I sat down at the table joining my dad. ''You going to be okay today?'' like he actually gave a shit. I nodded my head and ate my toast. I looked at the clock 7:45, I had to be in school by half 8 and it was literally just down the road from my house. I finished my food and put my plate on the side, I went to walk out the house when my dad stopped me. ''Ellie, are you okay?'' I nodded my head again, I didn't get on that well with my dad, he was constantly moaning about work or football or something else I couldn't care less about! He placed his hand on my shoulder. ''You know I love you.'' I just nodded my head, pulled away from him and left the house. I walked down the road to my new school. I got there and was 25 minutes early. The main doors were open, so I headed in to find reception. ''Hello, I'm new here.'' I said smiling at the women at the desk. ''Okay honey, just give me a second and I'll show you to the head's office.?'' I nodded my head still smiling and took a seat. About 2 minutes later the women had come to me and was leading me down an empty corridor to the head's office. As we reach the office I thanked the women and she smiled at me. I knocked on the door. ''Come in.'' a women shouted from the other side of the door. I opened the door. ''You must be Elizabeth?'' the women questioned me. She was tall and skinny with long black hair. I nodded. ''There's no need to be shy, we're all very welcoming in this school.'' I smiled. I felt so nervous, exactly what I was trying to avoid. This wasn't the new me, this was stupid old Elizabeth. I hated it, I needed to be more confident, feel like I belonged for once. I was sat in the heads office for about 15 minutes whilst she was telling me the school rules and how the staff treated the students with respect. She handed me my timetable. ''I've found someone in the majority of your lessons, who has agreed to show you round for the day.'' I nodded my head again. Suddenly the door swung open, a boy was stood there, slightly out of breath. ''Late again Mr. Franceschi?'' she narrowed her eyes at him. ''Sorry, I missed my bus an I had to run to school.'' She nodded at him. ''Josh, this is Elizabeth, the new student you'll be helping out.'' He'd caught his breath again. ''Hey I'm Josh.'' he took out his hand for me to shake it so I did. ''hi.'' I smiled at him causing him to smile back at me. The bell went. ''Okay you two, off to form period. And Josh, try and stay out of trouble.'' She gave him that glare that teachers give a student when they know they're going to be completely ignored. ''Yes Miss.'' Josh said leading me out her office.

Josh lead me to our form room. ''So where are you from?'' he asked. ''Liverpool.'' I smiled at him. ''Oh that's cool Ellie.'' I looked at him confused. ''Ellie?'' he nodded ''Yeah, am I alright calling you that?'' I nodded at him. ''So what kind of music do you like?'' ''Blink 182 are my favourite band.'' I smiled at him. ''Nice, you'll get on with Dan very well.'' We got to the room and walked in, there was no teacher there. Josh dragged me along with him to his group of friends, a group of lads. Great. I was stood behind Josh. ''Who's that?'' a little guy with scruffy hair asked. ''Oh this is Ellie.'' He smiled introducing me to his friends. '' and Ellie this is Chris.'' He pointed to a tall guy with long brown hair, he had a guitarist kind of vibe to him. ''Matt.'' He said pointing to another member of his group. ''Max.'' pointing to the little guy, who asked who I was. ''And this is Dan.'' He pointed to final guy in the circle. His eyes were a piercing blue and they locked with mine instantly. He had an unforgettable jaw line and his hair was bleach blonde and combed back. He was most definitely the one who stood out the most to me and Josh said he liked Blink 182 as well. Dan was still staring at me whilst the others made conversation about what they'd done that weekend. A teacher suddenly stumbled in. ''Sorry I'm late guys, got a killer hangover.'' well he seemed like an interesting teacher. He walked over to me. ''And you must be our new student?'' He smiled. ''Yes, I'm..Ellie.'' I liked the way it sounded, Josh smiled at me like he now owned me because I was using the name he gave me. ''Well Ellie, Josh will take care of you but if you need anything I'm always in this room.'' I nodded and he wondered off again. The bell rang and Josh was now taking me to our English class with Dan following us. ''so how come you moved here?'' Josh asked. ''My mum got a new job.'' ''Oh right awesome.'' Even though I wasn't staring at Dan, I felt his eyes watching me. What was up with him?

After English, we had Music, it was just me and Josh. We were getting on really well. He was an awesome dude. Music finished and we were on our way to the field for break. ''I think Dan likes you.'' Josh stated. I shrugged my shoulders, but in my head I was thinking about how I would love to be his girlfriend. ''I haven't seen him look at a girl like that since Lily.'' ''who's Lily?'' I questioned becoming quite curious. ''his ex but you don't need to worry about her she's way out the picture.'' I nodded. ''well Dan ha nice eyes.'' I smiled shyly at Josh, he winked at me. I saw the canteen just before the door to the field. ''I'm just going to buy a drink, I'll be out in a minute.'' I said to Josh. ''Okay see you soon.'' I walked over to the drinks stand and grabbed a bottle of water, someone touched my shoulder. ''Hey.'' I turned around to see those beautiful blue eyes staring at me. ''Oh hey Dan.'' he took the bottle of water out my hand. ''I'll get this.'' he smiled at me. ''Oh no it's fine I'll get it.'' he was determined and in the end I gave in. ''Thanks.'' I said a he handed me my bottle of water. We were on our way out to the field, Dan held the door open for me. I took a step out and suddenly there was a ball flying towards my face.
