Chapter 12'

Dan's POV

I woke up alone. I walked out of my room and through my empty house, my mum had left again. It'd been a week since I finally stood up to her, honestly that felt so damn good. I couldn't have done it without Ellie. I don't ever think I've been as happy in my entire life then I am when I'm with her, she lights up my world without that sounding really cheesy. I checked my phone. No messages. I called Josh. ''Hey man, we doing anything today?'' I asked. ''I'm off into town later, you and Ellie want to come?'' he replied. ''I'll come but Ellie is going out with her mum and brother today.'' I sighed. It was so cruel of me to be angry at her spending time with her family and not me but I just missed her so much when we weren't together. ''Okay, meet you at the bus stop at 12?'' Josh asked. ''Sure.'' I said hanging up. It was now 11:00. I got a quick shower, some food and got dressed. I grabbed my bag and headed out to the bus stop where I saw Josh. ''Hey Dan.'' He greeted me. ''Hey.'' I sighed. ''You alright?'' Josh asked. I guess the whole my mum thing was still bothering me a little bit but I was managing to brush it off. ''Yeah, just tired.'' I lied. I didn't think Josh really needed to know about that, I didn't want him to worry and I had Ellie. ''What we going to town for?'' I asked putting on a smile. ''I really want Nandos.'' Josh said rubbing his stomach. Jesus of course, Josh always wanted food. It's like all he thought about was eating. I laughed at him. ''Dude, do you ever think about anything but food?'' I asked. Josh thought about it for a few seconds. ''I don't think there's anything else.'' We both burst out laughing causing a few odd looks from the other people at the bus stop. The bus pulled up and we were now on our way into town. ''So how's things with you and Abi?'' I asked. ''We're good, I think I've finally found that one person that I want to spend the rest of my life with, you know what I mean?'' I completely understood him. ''Yeah man, I get that feeling with Ellie. She's great and I'm so lucky that I found her.'' Josh nodded at me. ''We're both really lucky dude.'' He said. I was happy that everything was working out so well for all of us. ''So I was thinking maybe we could have a party and play some of our music?'' Josh suggested. ''That's a great idea, we could make it like a proper gig at mine. Get Jonny and Eliott to open for us?'' I added. Josh nodded. ''Yeah, that'd be good.'' He said. ''You have to get Oli to come, him and Kelsey really hit it off.'' I said. ''I know, he won't shut up about her. Honestly, I thought he was gay. He's never taken an interest in girls before.'' I think we all thought that of Oli to be honest. ''That would suck for her, falling for someone else who was gay.'' We both awkwardly laughed. ''Do you think Jonny and Eliott are more than just friends?'' Josh asked . ''Well, I may of heard something but if I tell you, you can't tell anyone.'' I said, with my girlfriend being best friends with Jonny I found out pretty much everything that happened. ''What happened? Tell me! I won't tell anyone.'' Josh whinned. He was like a bitchy teenage girl, he needed to calm down a lot. ''I only know cause Jonny told Ellie so you can't say anything.'' Josh nodded agreeing. ''they hooked up.'' I whispered. ''Oh my god, they didn't! that's sweet but weird! So Eliott is gay too?'' Josh shouted, a few heads turned to face us looking slightly confused. ''You seriously need to calm down, apparently he swings both ways.'' I said. ''You realise I'm going have to tell them I know.'' Josh clapped his hands together like he was really excited, I swear he actually had the brain of a 12 year old girl. ''Josh you can't, Ellie will kill me and then Jonny will kill her!'' I stressed at him. ''Jonny? hurt anyone? have you seen him? Dan people call the guy Puffball! he couldn't hurt anyone.'' Josh started laughing. ''You know what I mean, his friendship means a lot to Ellie, please don't ruin that.'' I said making a more serious conversation. ''Fuck me Flint, when did you start caring about other people's feelings?'' he said. ''Since I fell in love with Ellie.'' I looked up at him smiling. We got off the bus and headed to Nando's we got our food and ate it then left. ''What do you wanna do now?'' I asked. ''We could go to HMV?'' Josh suggested. ''Yeah, sounds good.'' I said as we walked towards HMV. As soon as we got into the shop we both headed over to the cd's and just started flicking through. I was going through the cd's concentrating when I accidentally bumped into someone who was looking at the Justin Bieber cd's, fucking hell. ''Oh I'm really sorry.'' I said not looking up at her. ''Dan?'' she said. I looked up, shit. I looked around for Josh and when I saw him I gave him a 'HELP' look. He came over quickly. ''How are you?'' She asked. ''I'm good Lily.'' I snapped. I just wanted this to be over. ''Hey Josh.'' she said as he joined us. ''Shit.'' Josh said. What does he not think before he speaks. ''nice to see you too.'' Lily said. ''Sorry, just not seen you since..well It's been a while.'' Josh said stumbling with his words. ''Dan, do you wanna maybe go out sometime? i'd love to catch up.'' She said putting her hand on my shoulder. I peeled it off. ''No.'' I said sternly. She stood up straight quickly. ''Don't you want to catch up?'' she said biting her lip, that used to get me but no. I didn't need her anymore. ''Lily, I want nothing and I mean nothing to do with you ever.'' I said she looked shocked. As me and Josh began to walk away she said one last thing. ''Dan, I still love you.'' Oh no she fucking didn't? I turned around to face her. ''No you don't, you never did. You broke my fucking heart. Everybody warned me as well but I didn't listen to them. Our relationship was pathetic, we had nothing in common, all it was underage hook ups. So do not ever ever ever play that love card on me. You're a bitch and I've moved on. I found somebody else, someone better than you, someone who cares about me, someone who I have things in common with and someone who I fucking love. Bye Lily.'' I said walking away. ''Fucking hell Dan, you okay?'' Josh asked. ''Never been fucking better.'' I said. I stood up to my mum, I stood up to Lily fucking hell my life was getting better and better and it was all because of Ellie. ''I need to see Ellie.'' I whispered. ''Man go, I'm not holding you back!'' Josh said. ''Thank you.'' I ran to the bus stop quickly and waited for the next bus home. I pulled out my phone and there was a message from Ellie. -Hey, I'll be home about 3 you can come round for a bit? my mum and brother are going out to see my nan. I love you Dan <3 - I read the message and checked the time 14:37 okay. I'd be at hers just after 3 that's fine. I opened a new message. -I'm just waiting for the bus now back from town, I'll be there just after 3. I love you too, you're the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you!<3 - I texted back possibly getting a bit carried away, never mind. The bus pulled up. I got on and took my seat. I stood up to Lily, the girl who broke me, the girl I was shit scared of. I stood up to her and I'd never felt so fucking better. My journey was quiet, I was in my thinking zone and there weren't many people on the bus. I couldn't wait to get to Ellie's and just tell her how much I loved her. When the bus got to my stop, I jumped off and thanked the driver. My phone started ringing, it was Ellie. ''Hello beautiful.'' I answered. ''Dan, my dad. He's at the door. What do I do?'' She sounded like she was crying. ''Please don't cry, do you want to talk to him?'' I asked. ''I think I do.'' She whispered. ''then get rid of those tears and let him in, I'll be there in 5 minutes! I love you.'' I said. ''Thank you, I love you too.'' she said before hanging up the phone. I walked round to hers and knocked on the door, waiting for her to answer.
