Chapter 14'

Dan's POV

I woke up alone. I didn't remember much from last night other than being miserable and consuming a lot of alcohol. I checked my phone, Ellie still hadn't called. I guess since that dinner with her dad, she had a more important man in her life. We'd gotten in to a stupid fight, broken up and then she left for a month, to Venice on holiday with her dad and his girlfriend. And I, I was left here alone heartbroken. I pulled myself together for a moment to recall where I was, Josh's parents house. I looked around the room and saw nothing but empty cans and beer bottles, drink stains and food crumbs. At least everyone else had managed to have a good time then, right? I picked myself up and left, I walked back home thinking about Ellie. I ran over the same few questions over and over again. How could I let her slip out of my hands that easily? Did she still love me? Would we get back together? Why did this happen when we were so happy? I swear when she gets home, I'm going to make damn sure I never let her go again and prove to her that it was the biggest mistake of my life letting her go. I love her to pieces, nothing was changing that. My phone rang, it was Josh. ''Dude, where are you?'' he shouted down the phone. ''I'm going home man.'' I replied. ''Please stop feeling sorry for yourself. So she left you? She's the idiot. I love Ellie man but she played a dickish move running away from it all. You need to lighten up, have fun and before you know it she'll be back and she'll be wanting you back.'' Josh had a point with what he was saying but I just, I just didn't feel right without Ellie by my side. I guess I did need to lighten up, she wasn't gone forever right? ''Thanks for your honesty dude, just need to get my head round it and all. I'll be back round yours after I've showered to whip your arse at FIFA.'' I laughed. ''Now there is the Dan I know and love. And you can just whip my arse, I don't mind.'' Josh flirting with me always made me smile for some reason. ''Why do I feel like you're going to go have a wank after this phone call.'' I stated. ''What do you mean after?'' Josh laughed. ''For fuck sake Josh. I love you man, see you later.'' I smiled hanging up the phone.

Josh's POV

''See you dude.'' I said as the line cut off when Dan hung up. I turned back over to see Max in my bed. Aw, he looked so peaceful sleeping. I creeped out of my bed and went downstairs and I phoned Ellie. It rang so many times I thought it was just going to voicemail again but just as I was about to hang up I heard her voice. ''Josh?'' She whispered like she was afraid to talk to me. ''Ellie? Well at least you're not dead. I've been ringing you none stop for the last week.'' I moaned at her. ''I'm sorry, how is he?'' she spoke carefully and quietly. ''What do you think Ellie?'' There was a silence between us. ''I know It's not all your fault but you couldn't run away quicker. He's heartbroken.'' I finally answered. ''Look Josh, you don't think I know that? But I jumped on that plane a week ago and I can't come back for 3 more okay? I still love him.'' She admitted. ''Shit happens, I get that but I'm really not the person you should be telling that to okay? You should phone him.'' I suggested. She sighed. ''I know Joshy, I'm just scared-'' I cut in. ''Of what? Because if you think for a second that boy will ever stop loving you, you're fucking crazy. He's nuts about you. He still loves you Ellie now go speak to him. We all miss you Elle.'' I was angry at her for even doubting that Dan didn't love her anymore but I know they're gonna work it out. ''Thanks Josh, bye.'' She hung up. Okay so am i Cupid or something now?

Ellie's POV

Okay it was time to phone him. He needed to know that I still loved him okay. I scrolled down my contacts to his name and rang him. I was freaking outhe wasn't answering. Oh no, he hates me. Why did I think he wouldn't? ''Ellie? oh my god. Ellie. I love you Ellie. Please tell me you feel the same. Ellie?'' My thoughts were broken by his voice. ''Dan, I love you too.''
