Ellie's POV

There was a knock at the door, I jumped out of my seat thinking it was Dan. I opened the door. It wasn't Dan. ''Elizabeth?'' he said. ''What're you doing here?'' I said coldly. ''Am I not allowed to see my daughter anymore.'' He pleaded. Was he being serious? I slamed the door in his face.What the hell am I doing? This guy lied, he broke up my family. He's no father to me. Maybe that's too harsh. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN MY HEAD? I phoned Dan. He picked up quickly. ''Hello beautiful.'' He whispered down the phone, his voice so nice. I loved him so much. I snapped out of it as I remembered why I was phoning him ''Dan, my dad. He's at the door. What do I do?'' I was crying as I spoke. ''Please don't cry, do you want to talk to him?'' Dan asked. A part of me wanted to maybe he had a reason, I should hear him out really he's still my dad, he's only human? ''I think I do.'' I whispered still not really sure of my answer. ''then get rid of those tears and let him in, I'll be there in 5 minutes. I love you.'' He said. He was so strong I was in love with Dan, I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this guy. ''Thank you! I love you too.'' I said before hanging up. I went down the stairs, he was still there shouting for me. ''What do you want?'' I said the door still between us. ''Please just let me come in, I need to talk to you. Please.'' I opened the door. ''I've got someone coming round soon, so make it quick.'' I said moving out the way to let him walk through the door. ''Elizabeth'' he said. ''Ellie, everybody calls me Ellie Dad.'' I said. ''Your mother and I, we lost what we had.'' He looked to the ground. ''The love wasn't meant to last, your mother, she deserves better. Someone who can look after her, make her feel special and unfortunatley I'm not that man anymore. I've found someone else and as hard as I know it is for you to hear I still want you to be part of my life.'' He was being honest with me for the first time in a long time. There was a knock at the door. Dan. ''I need to get that.'' I said turning to answer the door. ''Hey, you okay?'' He said. ''Dan, I'm fine but thank you.'' I said letting him in. ''Dad, this is Dan. Dan, this is my dad.'' I said as the exchanged that nod that guys do that I will never understand? Why can't they just shake hands or something? JESUS. ''Dad, I'm willing to put this behind us. I get that you and mum don't have that spark anymore, I noticed it a while ago and you mistakenly chose the wrong way to go about it. But I forgive you. You're my dad and I still love you no matter what.''I said holding back my tears. ''Elizabeth- I mean Ellie. Thank you. You know I love you and Jack more than anything and you will always come first.'' He said pulling me into a hug. I hugged him, a bit unsteady. Yes, I had forgiven him but there was still a sense of betrayal. He let me go. ''So do you want to do something tonight?'' my dad asked and I looked to Dan. ''Well, me and Dan kind of had plans.'' I said trailing my vision back to my father. ''He can come too. I guess I should probably get to know him, it looks like he will be around for a while.'' He added. I really wasn't sure about this, the last time me and Dan went out to dinner with one of our parents it ended with him never wanting to speak to his mum again. ''Yes, I think we'd love to.'' Dan said interupting my thoughts. Woah what? Dan actually wanted to? I shot him a 'REALLY?!' look. He just nodded. ''Okay then, shall we go now?'' my dad asked. ''well, I think we should wait until mum comes home.'' I said quickly before Dan could make the decison for us again. ''Yes, that would be wise.'' my dad replied. ''So I'll pick you both up from here.'' He glanced at his watch. ''At about five thirty, Okay?'' My dad said making direct eye contact with me. I nodded. I then saw my father out the door. ''Thank you, Ellie. This means a lot to me.'' He whispered kissing my forehead. ''I know Dad, this is your last chance though.'' I said closing the door. PLEASE DON'T MESS IT UP. I thought. I slipped to the ground, my back to the door. I'd sorted things out, I was being mature. ''Elle, are you okay?'' Dan asked. SHIT. I'd forgotten he was even her. ''Yeah, I think so.'' I looked up at him and smiled, he joined me on the ground. ''You know, It'll be okay.'' He said. I looked at him confused. ''Your dad, he's made mistakes that will hurt for a long time but you've got to remember he's only human and he still loves you.'' He said. I reached out and squeezed his hand. ''I couldn't of done this without you.'' I smiled. ''You could, you're the strongest person I know Ellie. You can get through anything with or without me. I promise.'' He said before crashing his lips with mine. These kisses were the moments I treasured when we were apart. I hated being away from him, no matter what he said, Dan was my strength, the person that could get me through everything. He pulled away from me. ''So we have an hour and twenty minutes Ellie, is there anything in particular you would like to do?'' He gave me a cheeky Flint grin. What was he thinking? ''Well I don't know, is there something you would like to do?'' I winked. ''Well, I really really really would like to watch Lilo and Stitch please?'' He said. Oh thank god. I wasn't even sure where he was heading with that then. ''okay, on one condition.'' I said. Dan looked at me puzzled. ''huh?'' he asked. ''tell me that you love me.'' I winked. ''a million times, I love you.'' Dan said standing up and giving me his hand to help me up. We walked into the front room and I put the film on, we both cuddled on the coach.

An hour passed and my mum had come home with Jack. Okay, I now needed to tell her I was going out for a meal with my dad. Shit. I didn't even think about this before! How could I have not thought about this? ''I'll be right back.'' I said to Dan getting up off the sofa. He just nodded his eyes glued to the screen. ''Hey mum.'' I said walking into the kitchen. ''Hey hun, you and Dan want some dinner soon?'' She asked. Okay how am I going to word this. Mum, me and Dan aren't eating dinner here tonigh as we're going out with your cheating husband that tore our family apart :-)))). Hmm maybe not quite like that. ''Well, mum. Dad called round before.'' I paused as I noticed her head pop up. Okay I had all of her attention but I couldn't push the hurt that was spread across her face out of my mind. ''He asked for me to go to dinner with him tonight.'' I said quickly trying to get the painful part out the way. ''Okay.'' she stated coldly. My jaw just dropped, she wasn't going to stop me? ''Ellie, he's your father. If you want to see him then my feeling towards the dick head shouldn't stop you.'' she said more softly. I love my mum. ''Thank you for understanding. I love you mum.'' I said walking round the counter to hug her. ''I love you too Ellie.'' I left the kitchen and went back to my boyfriend who honestly seemed to be more in love with the cartoon characters on the television than me right now. I just joined him on the sofa and his arm moved around me as he pulled me in. ''Love you Elle.'' he smiled taking his eyes away from the screen for a split second. ''Love you too Dan.'' I smiled and snuggled up to him. I was happy. Everything was right, this was all I'd wanted for so long and now I'd found it. There was a knock at the door, Dan turned the t.v off. ''You ready?'' he asked taking my hand. I nodded and we headed out of the door. ''Bye mum.'' I shouted and walked out the door on key to her shouting bye back. ''Hey Eliz- Ellie.'' he said hugging me. ''Dan.'' he nodded at Dan. That fucking weird male thing again. I could just tell this evening was going to change things, make them better for us all. I was kind of happy that it was working out this way.
