Peter Maximoff had a massive crush on Y/N; there was no doubt about that. He loved to be near Y/N, and when they were gone, he didn't know what to do with himself. He loved them since the day they met. Peter was out for an afternoon run outdoors when he saw a new face. Five new faces that looked the same and had the same body. "I must be hallucinating!" Peter yelped. He rubbed his eyes and watched as the five bodies morphed into one. "Yep definitely was hallucinating," Peter confirmed as the body walked towards him. "Perhaps I need some water," Peter thought aloud to himself. "Hi, I'm Y/n I saw you speeding down the hill well my clone saw you anyway. My mutation is self-replication. What's your name?" Y/n wondered. "Uh Peter," He replied nervously. "I thought I was losing it seeing five of you," Peter quipped. "Wait until you see a hundred of me," Y/n giggled. "That would be quite the spectacle," Peter remarked. Thinking about how gorgeous a hoard of Y/n would be made his blood boil with lust. "Would you like to hang out sometime?" Peter asked. "I would love to," Y/n responded. That was six years ago, currently, it was the end of the school year for Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and with that, testing was right around the corner.

Y/N dreaded the end of the school year's testing with a passion. Peter just assumed they were nervous because he knew he sure was. He never really studied, and when he did, he had to have someone else in the room to keep him focused. It was a week before the Social Studies and English final exams the ones Y/n feared the most. Y/n was great with numbers and calculations but when it came to words and remembering things Y/n struggled. Y/n had severe Dyslexia since childhood. Their mutation didn't help the Dyslexia much either and in fact, made it worse.

When using their mutation Y/n's had to use a good percentage of their brain to focus on the duplicates of themselves which took a damper on the parts of the brain used for reading. Somehow for all the years Y/n knew Peter their dyslexia never came up in conversation. He was soon about to find out though. After a long run around the town, he decided to stop by Y/n's room after getting them some [favorite fast food] for studying so hard. He knocked on the door and when he opened it he was taken aback by the view.

Multiple Y/n's were all scrambled about in the room, but the true Y/n was on their bed with their hands pressed against the temple of their forehead. Peter recognized them instantly and rushed over to them. "Hey, you ok?" Peter wondered. "No, I am going to fail!" Y/n cried out. "I am sure you are going to do just fine with all this studying you're doing," Peter proclaimed. "It's not the studying part I am worried about I can study all I want but-but," Y/n froze. "What? What's wrong?" Peter questioned. "I can't read properly!" Y/n exclaimed. "You don't know how to read?" Peter inquired. "It's not that I don't know how to read I get letters all mixed up. I have dyslexia Peter, meaning B's looks like D's to me and P looks like Q," Y/n explained.

"Oh well, there's nothing we can't solve. You are so smart I am sure we got this," Peter declared watching as a clone of Y/n brought a cup of coffee to them. "First off we are going to take a break from studying so you can take a moment to eat and do whatever you need to do then we will come back and I will help you," Peter decreed. "Ok," Y/n replied hesitantly.

After eating Y/n's favorite fast food and going for a walk with Peter outdoors Y/n's nerves were calmed down for the moment. "Are you good now?" Peter asked. "Mhm," Y/n responded. "Ok try reading this to me," Peter said pointing to one of the practice exam questions. "The-what's that word?" Y/n questioned. "Doctor if you think the word sounds weird in your head then it's probably not the right letter," Peter stated. "The doctor when" Y/n began to say. "Went" Peter chirped. "Take it slow," Peter told Y/n. "The doctor went to the hospital due to an emergency," Y/n read dragging out the words.

"Good job!" Peter exclaimed. "I did it?" Y/n wondered. "Yep try the next line," Peter replied. Y/n read to Peter for quite some time and he never once judged them for going slow. He wanted to help them and they were pleased to know someone cared. "Peter thank you for helping me," Y/n exclaimed. "No problem," Peter replied. He couldn't help but smile. He knew they tried extremely hard to understand and was doing the best they could.

They both took the English exam on Thursday knowing the results would be given the next day. "How do you think you did?" Peter questioned. "I don't know how I did honestly. I did what you said and I took my time but there were still words I was unsure of and my mutation made the letters blur together even more so I'm a little worried," Y/n confessed. Peter grasped Y/n hands and stared deep into their eyes. "I am sure you did amazing," Peter stated. "Really? You must have a lot of confidence and faith in me," Y/n remarked. "I do because I know that even with Dyslexia you can do anything you put your mind to," Peter confessed.

"I sure hope you're right," Y/n quipped. "How do you think you did?" Y/n questioned. "I probably got a D but I didn't study," Peter admitted. "Peter again?" Y/n inquired. "Yeah but I am not worried about it," Peter responded. "Next time you have a test I'm helping you," Y/n stated. He rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Fine," Peter replied giving in. "You know what? We got that social studies test next week why don't we study?" Y/n remembered. "Seriously?" Peter chuckled. "Come on let's go!" Y/n exclaimed grabbing ahold of his hand. Peter's face turned red and his palms began to sweat. "Nervous about studying?" Y/n wondered. "Studying sure," Peter managed to utter as they dragged him to their room.

"Alright, I got a list of subjects we can study where do you want to start?" Y/n asked. "I want to start by studying you," Peter whispered under his breath. "Huh?" Y/n questioned. "Let's study that," Peter said pointing to the Cold War. "Ok," Y/n replied and with that, he began to watch as they explained the Cold War. For someone who couldn't read well they sure remembered everything. They began to talk about how the Cold War wasn't a war which confused Peter a ton. "Well it's called the Cold War it says war in its name!" Peter cried out. "Yes, but there's so much tension and propaganda it sure feels like one," Y/n explained. "You act as if you lived through it!" Peter yelled. "We are living through it! It began in 1945 and is still going on in 1985," Y/n told him.

"We are living in a war!" Peter screamed. "Shh calm down no Vietnam was a war this is just mind games," Y/n explained. "No one told me we were living through a war," Peter murmured. "Ugh, Peter!" Y/n exclaimed shaking their head. "Let's try something else," Y/n suggested. Let's just say Peter was confused more often than Y/n would have liked. If only he went to class and paid attention maybe he would learn Y/n thought. After studying they both went to bed with fears as to what tomorrow's test results might bring.

The next morning came sooner than expected. Y/n and Peter headed to English class and both watched as the teacher passed out the class now graded exams back. Y/n kept a straight face knowing Peter was looking. Immediately after class was over they checked in with each other. "Well, what did you get?" Y/n asked. "A D minus," Peter replied showing Y/n his paper. "Me too except I got a D plus," Y/n remarked with a sad face. They turned their paper towards him and Peter instantly became confused. "That says B plus," Peter stated. Y/n began laughing causing Peter to get weirded out. "What's so fun-oh you knew!" Peter exclaimed. "Gotcha ya!" Y/n smiled. "I told you you were smart," Peter repeated. "Thank you for helping me," Y/n responded. They kissed him on the cheek before starting to head toward their next class. Peter blushed and smiled he was so proud of Y/n.
